If you shop in Boden..

What did you buy, did you keep it? Is it nice? I had vowed to give up on Boden but I'm struggling so much with the (lack of) quality and styles on the rest of the high street (I'm a sahm, age 40) that I wonder if Boden is (about) my only option..

and I forgot that I bought a hooded mac ages ago and the fabric frayed and wore out in about 2 years!

But I also have a pair of green suede ankle boots with zippers on both sides which I quite like.

I do like a contrast trim or a bit of trim in general to improve an otherwise boring tee.

I feel the same ie don’t always find what I like on the high st, though I’m finding I buy less from Boden. I’ve got a fair few Bretons (long and short sleeves) but not had too much luck with their other t’shirts. Contrary to many of you I tend to do better in summer than winter, as I like quite a few of their jersey dress styles. I also like their bikinis. I do think it is hit and miss though and seems to have become very expensive even with a 20% off code (I never buy anything full price). I do love their younger girls clothes though.

Generally speaking, I think I prefer the seasalt Bretons. I bought two of each two years ago, and the seasalt def have another year in them - in fact they've probably improved with age, but the Boden ones have twisted terribly.

I have phases of not buying from Boden but struggle to find similar quality clothes that I like on the High Street. I only ever buy at a discount and with free post and returns and it means I don't have to go clothes shopping with DS.

I don't get on with their shoes or trousers but tops, dresses, skirts and shorts are all good. I got a very similar military jacket to the link above in the clearance last summer and wore it loads before the weather turned too cold.

I love their cashmere. And their silk cotton tops. And their petite dresses. They are good for basics like cotton trousers but TBH I've been buying those from M&S or Gap instead recently. Their tweed trousers are great. And their shoes are good quality.

Basically just avoid the coourful prints.

Hoppinggreen · 10/02/2018 21:49

Chinos, Richmond trousers, cashmere
Shoes are always too narrow and a lot of tops and dresses make me look pg

TheScottishPlay · 10/02/2018 22:01

I usually buy the Breton tops and Richmond trousers.
Also love a rummage in the clearance for tunics and patterned tops.

Botanistinhiding · 10/02/2018 22:10

I’m surprised that people think the cashmere is still good - the last several jumpers I’ve had have all bobbled horribly, despite being supposedly washable.

The gap cashmere is definitely better quality although styles not as nice.

I agree their jeans are great and I find their dresses very flattering, the cut of most of them just works better than other shops for me.

I usually buy a couple of wool ‘mini’ skirts each autumn/winter, and have done for a few years now (since my mid-twenties). I like them for work wear.

They’re good quality, but I buy them more because the varieties of lengths, colours and patterns isn’t something I can easily find elsewhere. I think I can pull them off without looking old beyond my years, but I could well be wrong Grin

NorthernLurker · 10/02/2018 22:35

I've returned the last few things I've bought. I am getting a lot from seasalt though.

woodhill · 10/02/2018 22:45

Their coats are good plus footwear.

Jersey tops in cotton are a good buy too as they wash well and keep their shape
