Earrings and necklaces for short hair - help me treat myself!

I've had my hair in a shoulder length bob for years but I have finally accepted that the alopecia that's dogged me off and on for decades is winning, and I recently embraced wigs. It's been a revelation to me to be able to concentrate on other things rather than scalp make up, careful styled hair glued into place with cans of hairspray etc

One of the (ahem, several!) wigs I've bought is a pixie cut and I'm loving it. In fact, it's becoming my throw-on wig, it's so easy to wear. But I've no idea how to do jewellery around it. For years I've worn simple studs just to keep the holes open and a very plain, fine 18 inch silver chain round my neck. The last thing I wanted was to direct anyone's attention to my head. I've got the budget for decent costume jewellery but no idea what would work with short hair. I'm 5'7, cool colouring and fairly well endowed of chest. I wear a lot of Hush to give you an idea of style.

Please help me shop :)

God, I thought you were waaaayyy younger than me, and I’m 44!!

I absolutely love the first wig cherries. It looks beautiful on you. You really suit it :) You look incredible in the others too.
As for earrings, I wear loads. What about hultquist. Hush do some of these but you can buy them in other online stores.

Thank you all so much. You've really given me a boost, because it has been quite traumatic. Yup, 60, no work, Botox or fillers. The one good thing about my poor head is that I've had a lifetime of sun dodging so my face has no sun damage at all. Plus good genes. You should see my mum and dad at 85.

oblomov, this is where I go. www.parrucche.co.uk They were amazing. I saw Pat who is a breast cancer survivor, so she got both the trauma AND the practicalities. But at the same time she completely treated it as a positive decision, not a 'poor you'. I had a 90 minute free consultation, tried masses of wigs, then she ordered my three favourites in to try in my colours, with no obligation to buy. As a necessity wearer you get the VAT off. My short one wa £90 (it has a fairly basic cap construction), the long one was £250 but it has a top of the range cap. To be honest, the cheaper one is probably comfier, it's so light. The curly one was £140. I reckon each wig was about £20 more than they were on line, but so worth it for the personal service.

They look absolutely amazing OP. I would suggest drop earrings with the short pixie do. I love sparkly things from accessorize or similar my skin reacts badly to a lot of costume jewellery. I'm obsessed by the nature inspired jewellery of this little place I discovered on holiday in the Isle of Wight and would love to have lots & lots of earrings from there www.theoldbankjeweller.com/contemporary-silver-and-gold-jewellery

I'm on the verge of exploring wigs, I'm on a long term cancer drug with "no side effects" but my hair has really deteriorated over the last few years, it's not defining but it gets me down. I may have to nip up on the train to see them thank Cherries 🍒

Oblomov18 · 09/02/2018 21:46

Thank you so much OP, I will tell my friend. Grin

Back to your original enquiry:

Oh sugar. My 6 limit per day is used. I'll post more tomorrow,

EnidButton · 09/02/2018 22:04

Oooh they're really nice!

EnidButton · 09/02/2018 22:05

Sorry, that wasn't helpful to your original question. Blush

CrypticClues · 09/02/2018 22:13

You look fantastic! What I can see in that first pic, your skin and bone structure look amazing.

Look at Chambers and Beau for some interestingly shaped necklaces and pendants. Think they do earrings too...

EnidButton · 09/02/2018 22:18

Missoma and Alex Monroe are both really nice.

Their pic isn't too great unfortunately but I have these in grey labradorite. Each stone is faceted and catches the light. So glamorous but light and easy to wear.
