Moisturiser recommendations please

Can I ask for your recommendations for a facial cream please?

I want one that moisturises, is anti-ageing, as well as having sun protection in it please.

I'm currently using Benefit's Total Moisturiser but at over £30 a pop and not containing anything other than moisturiser, I think that's a bit steep.

I'm hopefully looking to spend about a tenner if possible.

Oil of Olay total effects

I was just looking at their website and was going to email them for some samples, if they do them. My aunt had olay years ago (80's) and the texture/smell wasn't that nice, so I want to test it before buying.

They don't do samples and it's nothing like the original oil of ulay in the past

I really like Heliocare 360° SPF 50 gel. The gel has a matt finish while the cream is a little more 'dewy'. It doesn't really have a smell either.

I also use Heliocare 360 but the cream rather than the gel. I'm just about to start my second tube. I've been using the first one for maybe 6 months (I only use it in the morning) so even at £24 a tube it's still pretty cost effective. I've noticed that my deep "No1" wrinkle between my eyes isn't quite as deep, and my forehead lines don't seem quite so pronounced. Great base for under foundation too!

Olay Total Effects is very good. It's £15 full price but always on offer somewhere. The smell is fine, you can get a fragrance free version, but somehow it doesn't seem as good. The only problem is that it's only spf15 and goodness knows how much you'd have to use to get that level of sun protection. Boots Protect and Perfect sun cream is nice, goes up to spf50 and might be worth a try, again £15 but often on offer.

I'm currently trying a Nivea spf50 mousse, which seems to be just about moisturising enough for me (my skin is dryish). I got it in Asda for about £10 and I quite like it so far.

I use Aldi’s own brand ones, they’re really good.

Look out for CeraVe products, launching in Boots in March. Very well formulated and well regarded products. I've seen them recommended 100s of times, particularly the Hydrating Cleanser.

I've heard Aldi's stuff is good, but I never go in there, my now local one never has whatever it was that I specifically went in there for and now going in that shop just makes me irrationally angry.

Thank you for that info Bagel, I'll definitely check out the cleanser and moisturiser when I can get them from Boots.

I'm currently using an Alpha H moisturiser I received in a beauty box - it's SPF50 and has a gorgeous texture.

Unfortunately the full price tube is an eye-watering £29, so I'm also on the lookout for something a little more purse-friendly.

I've used Regenerist in the past and I like that one.

I think i used to use that years ago, when it first came out. It leaves your skin very plump, I was going to get that again but thought there might be some nice new -better- ones to choose from now, but it seems the oldies are the best :)
