I don't seem to have much luck - clarins smells lovely, but doesn't seem to soak into my skin and just sits on the top like beads of sweat. Clinique soaks in but then my skin feels a bit tight, and not very soft and moisturised.

Can anyone suggest some nice moisturisers that do the job 😊

I love the superdrug simply hydrating serums

BagelGoesWalking · 02/02/2018 20:21

What type of skin do you have?

HaveToWearHeels · 02/02/2018 22:22

Tropic all the way

meandmytinfoilhat · 02/02/2018 22:46

Dermalogica.

MountainDweller · 02/02/2018 22:49

Neal's year Frankincense is lovely. Also M&S Ultimate sleep cream. I have normal to dry skin. I know what you mean about feeling moisturiser doesn't sink in properly. These both sink in very well.

buckleten · 02/02/2018 23:00

Boots No.7 protect and perfect intense is lovely, nicer than both Clarins and Lancome in my opinion! And quite often on 3 for 2...

BeatyBeast · 02/02/2018 23:04

Burt's Bees Clary Sage moisturiser. Thick and lovely but dries Matt.

vilamoura2003 · 02/02/2018 23:14

@BagelGoesWalking just a normal skin type, not oily or dry just somewhere in between.

I feel like I should make more effort to look after my skin so will try some of the above suggestions 👍

Body Shop Vitamin E Emulsion. It's spf 30 and super lightweight and non-greasy. I build it up a bit if my normal/combo skin is feeling a little dry.

Allaboutthatcake · 02/02/2018 23:19

I like Aldi’s

WonkyDonk87 · 02/02/2018 23:21

Another vote here for ALDIs

riledandharrassed · 02/02/2018 23:22

Neal’s yard stuff is full of essential oils which are irritating .

Look at Avene in boots or la roshe posay x

namechangedtoday15 · 02/02/2018 23:29

Another vote for Boots Protect & Perfect Serum. I bought the deal just before Christmas (cleanser, day & night cream etc) and the serum and it has made a noticeable difference to my skin. It was quite dry previously with mild rosacea and honestly I've got better skin now than I have had for about 10 years (during which time to be fair I've done nothing).

kirkandpetal · 03/02/2018 06:39

M&S Forumla range. I have the day cream (the spf 15 one) and the sleep cream for night. Seriously impressed and if you wait for their 20% off promo, the price isn't too bad either. There must be one due.

I'll be honest, the sleep cream does tend to sit on the surface, but I'm not aware of it. What I mean is, I put it on and it sinks in, and my skins feels lovely. But in the shower in the morning, when the water hits my face, I can feel the cream like it's sitting on the surface.

I'm sure someone knowledgeable will come along and tells me a it's a crock of shite because of ingredient a,b,c etc, but I don't care. Since I started using (approx a month) it my skins appearance has never been better. It appears plumper, smoother, more evenly toned and generally in great condition. So I'm sold!!

Lifeofpies · 03/02/2018 07:19

Dermalogica - skin smoothing cream. Medium weight, great on my slightly oily with dry patches skin.

lalaloopyhead · 03/02/2018 07:32

Decleor Hydra Floral. I love the smell of decleor but have steered clear of Hydra Floral rich cream as I thought it would be too much for my combination skin. I got sucked in to a QVC kit and I love it. It is quite thick but just instantly soaks into my skin and leaves it feeling lovely and soft.

BagelGoesWalking · 03/02/2018 19:05

You could try La Roche Posay or their Toleriane moisturiser (a bit later) or Avène is a good brand, no fragrances etc.

BagelGoesWalking · 03/02/2018 19:06

A lot of ppl like the NMF from the Ordinary, you can add a few drops of oil (Rosehip, Marula or Squalane) to it if you like.

runawaywithme07 · 03/02/2018 19:58

Another vote for the Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating serum. And their Vitamin E serum too.

I've stopped buying moisturiser now that I've discovered serums. They make my skin feel so much nicer.

MeadowHay · 03/02/2018 22:20

I came here to recommend the Superdrug Simply Hydrating serum thinking I'd be looked at like Hmm but I see someone has already beaten me to it! It's cheap, not tested on animals, a little goes a long way and I think it feels more like a moisturiser to put on than any other 'serum' I've had in the past. Light and absorbs quickly, and hasn't aggravated my sensitive skin/eczema/acne.

ChishandFips33 · 04/02/2018 00:55

Another LRP fan here. I have a few from the range and just discovered the Nutric (sp?) It's lovely and rich for overnight (but quite strong smelling!)

Nivea soft is also good for me and cheaper

Nicpem1982 · 04/02/2018 10:51

Meadow - its my fave product it's made such a difference to my skin

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/02/2018 10:54

Try a serum if you think a cream just sits on top pf skin.

M&S Formula have some lovely daytime serums.

SukiTheDog · 04/02/2018 12:11

Try Fadeout. Associated purely with pigmentation problems but, I have abandoned my Clarins and Clinique, in favour of this. I use the spf 25 and it soaks in beautifully, is non greasy and brightening. It has done wonders for my scraggy neck.

LoniceraJaponica · 04/02/2018 12:28

I came on to recommend Boots no 7 P & P and Bodyshop Vitamin E, but I like the sound of the Superdrug one and will give it a try.
