Alternatives to cardies?

I love me a cardie.
I'm thinking slim fit, hip length ones. I'm either too hot or too cold so I need something I can easily put on/take off.
But I wear one most days so I think I need to switch it up.
But I'm stuck for alternatives.
I can't get the neckline right on jumpers. V neck looks dated but rounder shapes makes me matronly.
I'm short and hour glass shaped so anything loose or overley long looks awful.
I love tank tops but they're a no aren't they?
Any suggestions?

When I say tank tops are a no, I mean they are a no in respect of being fashionable.

A loosely structured blazer goes with everything. You need to give up the cardies.. they ruin all outfits!

Jersey blazers look great I think. Would also suit your hour glass shape.

Kit I am devastated that you say that of my beloved cardies! 😂

OK blazers may be doable.

But my style is quite classic and I don't wear black. Any suggestions on where I can get some coloured blazers and/or not look like I'm going to an interview if I wear them with say a smart pencil skirt?

Lucky I am a cardi fiend as well. No way are they matronly. It depends what else you are wearing -avoid tweed skirts and shirts done up to the neck.
I buy good quality - natural materials and wear undone. They go with jeans, summer dresses.
Embrace your love of the cardi!

Luna - I don't think cardies are matronly either. :)

Cardis are fine. Mumsnet hates them but they can be fine.

Cardies regret. Sometimes I just feel too restricted in a sweater. I love the versatility. There are so many around in the shops at the moment, think they may be becoming fashionable again

Cardies are great nothing to regret

A scarf can sometimes be warm enough to substitute for a cardigan.

When my mum broke her wrist I got a couple of sleeveless cape type things from TK Maxx that we're nicer than my description of them!

I love a cardie too as I get very cold and hate having my arms out.
I did see a nice jersey blazer thing in uniqlo that looked nice and comfortable

BikeRunSki · 01/02/2018 20:45

I have started to wear jersey blazers instead of cardies. I get them from Joules, and have the same style in navy and grey.

But with pencil skirts, I think a round neck cardie with the top 3 or 4 buttons undone is smart.

I love cardies. Shorter 'bolero' style ones make a change if wearing with a dress. If I wear a jumper it has to be v-necked as I'm large chested - I don't mind looking dated, though, as I wear lots of vintage clothes.

Cardies aren’t fashionable!?
