Anyone had their colours done? Did it significantly change the way you look, and if so, how? Is it worth the cost?

Colour me beautiful.
I did buy the book before I went and tried to work out my colours by myself, but I got it a bit wrong. It definitely does not replace the consultation, it was money very well spent!

spend £80 getting v. drunk with a couple of your most honest and dear friends and get them to tell you what you look good in.

Tutter · 30/04/2007 17:08

i would say so

was lucky and had my session paid for by my employer a few years ago

i knew some things before i went (e.g. i suit cream better than white, brown better than black) but there were other subleties that i did learn (e.g. i can wear red if it's the right shade/tone)

just ask tugamummy. Save yourself £80.

Do a lot of men get their colours done?

nappyaddict · 30/04/2007 18:12

tugamummy look at my profile pictures and do mine!!

nappyaddict · 30/04/2007 18:12

oh btw hex is it CMB you were thinking of going with?

hex · 30/04/2007 19:41

I hadn't even thought that far...is this what you'd recommend? My friend's just had them done, she was told she was 'summer' but she's got green eyes, mid complexion colour, brown hair.

Tugamommy, I'm dark brown hair, green eyes, yellowy-olivey skin coloring. I tend to wear olive greens but am so sick of doing this and need some life injected in me. Do they tell you make-up as well...do you then have to buy the make-up from them since they presumably will be refering to a specific brand colour?

Is CMB everywhere in the UK then?

Oh.... I think I said too much... I really don't know what I'm talking about.... If you have dark hair and dark eyes it's easy, because that's what I'm like but otherwise I'm a bit out of my depth....
Nappy, do you have dark eyes? I can't really tell if they're brown or blue (you look lovely btw). If you do, then you're deep and cool like me. See what I wrote for NKF.

LaCerbiatta · 01/05/2007 10:17

Hex, I really wouldn't know. Do you look, colours wise, like Kylie Minogue? She's an example of a 'soft' in the book. If you are then you should look good in soft colours and not in contrasts. Like medium browns, heather, greyish blues, etc. Why don't you go to a bookshop and have a look at the book? Maybe it will help

NKF · 01/05/2007 10:20

Tugamommy, looks like you've got yourself a part time job here.

LaCerbiatta · 01/05/2007 10:20

CMB are all over the country.
They do your make-up and they have their own brand of lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushes. I think it will depend from consultant to consultant. Mine used mostly cheap products from Tescos, Nr7, etc, and only one eyeshadow from CMB, but she didn't push me to buy it at all.
But as long as you know what colours are good you can buy any brand.

LaCerbiatta · 01/05/2007 10:22

Should I start charging?

Actually, I've thought about becoming a consultant, I have even sent for an information pack. I want to go back to my home country and jobs aren't very good there so I thought this would be a really easy new thing to do there. It's bloody expensive to train though!

nappyaddict · 02/05/2007 02:12

no my eyes are blue.

nappyaddict · 02/05/2007 02:13

do you know where your friend had hers done?

Porcupine · 02/05/2007 07:45

oh yes ye syes its great

hex · 02/05/2007 10:54

Lol!! Do I look like Kylie...I wish!! yes, I'll pop to a bookshop and buy
