I've tried facial oil I've got one from the ordinary i use moisturiser but nothing is helping. The dry patches can become itchy especially on my chin.

Aveeno cream is great, layer oil, then cream, then vaseline on top if you're really dry. It works.

I got rid of my dry skin by using acid pads grom Superdrug. £6 for a pot of Pads. I have sensitive skin and eczema and they have done my skin a world of good.

Wash your face with Dead Sea salt and try to keep everything else off it. Difficult to do in the winter as you get self conscious and also sounds counter intuitive but more moisture could be aggravating you.

I had this and tried allsorts, but it cleared straightaway when I got Daktacort cream from the GP for eczema.

I was wondering about excezma as it is itchy. Is that only on prescription?

Hi Ihatebuildabear (I do too btw!)

I took my DD to the doctor for what turned out to be an eczema problem yesterday and she recommended daktacort as well. But I also got some Cetaphil for DD to wash her face as it's very gentle.

In winter for generally dry skin I usually add a few drops of vitamin e oil to my moisturiser to counteract central heating.

I find Caroline Hirons very helpful for all things complexion as there is apparently a big difference between dehydrated and dry skin Smile

Yes, OP, I think Daktacort is only available on prescription.
Also second Cetaphil as a gentle cleanser for problem skin.

I used to swear by E45 cream or even a bit of sudacrem when my skin was inflamed or really dry. Think I was allergic to normal skin products but these were fantastic.

Ihatebuildabear · 31/01/2018 20:11

Oh e45 or sudocream is a good call thank you.
