Urea creams

Have recently discovered the joy or urea creams after my chiropodist suggested I use it on my skanky feet. Locks in moisture apparently. Love it.

However on googling 'urea' I have found this:

www.annmariegianni.com/ingredient-watch-list-urea-the-preservative-that-may-release-formaldehyde/

which warns that synthetic urea can be carcinogenic. It says to avoid Diazolidinyl urea and Imidazolidinyl urea.

Eucerin just lists its urea as 'urea' - is it bad urea or good urea? Confused

Any pharmacists or knowledgable folk out there who can advise?

Formaldehyde is a gas.

Yeah my GP prescribed me this for very dry skin and I use it on my hands (and sometimes feet) when the skin starts splitting apart in the cold weather. Especially overnight it's v effective.
I think the one I have is called Hydromol - it comes in different concentrations.

So we think continued use of urea creams is safe?
