To Fringe or Not to Fringe

I have long straight hair.

I am itching to get a fringe.

I have a round face.

Will I regret it?

I have not changed my haircut in over a decade.

Why don’t you start with a long sweeping fringe, that you can push to one side? Then gradually go shorter from there.

goose1964 · 27/01/2018 11:35

I would think it would suit a round face, mine is a roundish heart and I had a fringe into the waves started

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 27/01/2018 11:37

It works if you have big eyes and a striking colour, it's not that much about face shape.

Pinkywoo · 27/01/2018 12:00

Try one of those clip in ones (a winge!) to see if you like it as fringes are a bastard to grow out, you can get them really cheap on eBay.

I'm also fat. Size 16-18, 5'8"

Can you try flipping a bit of your hair over to make a fake fringe?

rightknockered · 27/01/2018 12:21

I think to suit a fringe, you need good cheekbones and a neat little nose. A long fringe suits most people.

Heratnumber7 · 27/01/2018 12:28

No to fringes. All fringes, in everyone.

lotti37 · 27/01/2018 13:02

I would look at clip in fringes or Maybe a long sweeping fringe . I wouldn’t have a blunt fringe .

MayFayner · 27/01/2018 13:07

Not to fringe!

I am currently growing my last one out, it's a complete pita as I can do nothing with it.

I do this every few years; think "I'm bored I'm going to get a fringe". I get the fringe, like it for one day then spend a year growing it out.

Never again! famous last words

faceremovinghairscream · 27/01/2018 13:22

I'm on the larger side with a roundish face and I love my fringe. Started off relatively long and plucked up the courage to go short.
I wanted one for years and now I can't imagine not having one. Go for it! Best thing is you can just stick it up in a bobble and blow dry your fringe and you are ready to go.

evilharpy · 27/01/2018 14:17

I had a heavy blunt fringe and loved it but the maintenance was a ballache. It needed trimming every two weeks, and washing and blowdrying every morning before I could leave the house as when I woke up I looked like Jedward. Maybe it would be easier if your hair is naturally straight.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/01/2018 18:39

I agree a longer sweeping fringe, to start with. A full fringe can be a total pain, they really do need attention.
