Hot Weather Clothes for the Ample of Arse

I’m a size 16 and off on a fairly active holiday to Thailand in May for 2 weeks. I’m already seriously worried about what I’ll wear to be comfy, it will be mega hot and I’m not sure my go-to black leggings are going to cut it!

I need to be super comfy, able to move around easily and avoid chub rub at all costs (I’ve had holidays ruined by painful thigh rubbing before)

The problem is I’m completely bottom heavy. I have a fairly small waist and broad shoulders, but I carry most of my weight on my stomach, hips, bum and thighs. I’m probably almost hourglass under the chub, but with it I’m more of a pear.

I can wear shorts as long as they are knee length but would need a long loose fitting top over them to cover tummy bulge.

Ill lose probably a stone and a bit between now and then (I’ve dropped 6.5 stone in the last year) but I won’t crash diet to get more off or anything before anyone suggests it Hmm

Would the harem jumpsuit, sandals and sunglasses look look awful on my shape? Are they awful generally? They look so comfy and I’m considering them seriously, do I need to be talked out of them?

I'm with you - dropped 60lbs last year, probably about another 20lbs to go, and already fretting about summer wear for a holiday in March. Winter was easy, but I'm not quite ready for summer clothing yet. The problem you will still have with the harem jumpsuit is that you will still get chub rub. I'd get myself off the the big knicker company and buy three pairs of their anti chub rub pants. Super comfy and I found they worked much better than cotton cycle shorts as they wick sweat way much better than cotton. Chaffree are another brand, but theirs do come up very big - I find the others I mentioned much comfier. The toilet issue with jumpsuits always foil me unless I have access to nice clean toilets - otherwise the keeping them off the floor while hovering is hard (for me, anyway). I'd look for lightweight trousers in linen or cotton (next, m&S) and some cheap lightweight cotton tees, plus a floaty skirt or two. Clothes ARE cheap in Thailand but depending what size you are currently it can be hard to get off the peg in bigger sizes. Have a lovely holiday!

If you like that particular style, you can also get them in dresses. ' Lagenlook summer dress' will usually bring them up on eBay or Amazon.

When I went to Thailand I ended up having to buy all my loose clothes from there I think most people do tbh. Like sarongs tied as skirts etc and loose trousers. But yes I would definitely buy a couple of linen dresses from Lagenlook, I have some for the summer here and they are perfect for hot weather.

OP I have this in grey so I know it hangs well and is perfect for hot sweaty summer days

Evans do soft shorts to avoid thigh rubbing. I wear with works skirts in the summer and they are great.

Talc or spray deodorant helps with chub rub. I've ordered shorts from next from upcoming holiday, although I'm not confident in wearing them tbh.
