Natural fibre clothes shops

Which shops are good for natural fibres? Cotton, wool etc? Ive had some luck with boden, joules and seasalt, sometimes white stuff, is there anywhere else? So tired of having to check the label all the time and finding out something pretty is synthetic!

To maxx oddly quite often has merino amongst all the polyester...

thedevilinablackdress · 24/01/2018 21:59

People Tree, Toast, Cos (varies)

CrabappleBiscuit · 24/01/2018 22:00

John Lewis...sort by fabric.

Happy50 · 24/01/2018 22:02

People Tree have really soft organic cotton

BikeRunSki · 24/01/2018 22:11

Howies
Uniqlo
Patra ‘s USP is that they only use natural fibres - cotton, silk, wool - although I sent back a dress which was viscose,

BikeRunSki · 24/01/2018 22:12

Thought too (used to be Braintree)

Hobbes8 · 24/01/2018 22:27

Some of the cheaper shops have natural fibres - I've had cotton cardigans from primark and Dorothy Perkins, but you do have to check labels. H&M have an organic cotton range which is obviously labelled. If you don't mind viscose, a lot of oasis knitwear is viscose and they have nice designs.

For merino and cashmere, uniqlo is good value. People on here have rated kettlewell before, although they can look a bit elderly in their styling.

CountFosco · 25/01/2018 00:01

Kettlewell you can search by fabric. Unlike M&S who seem to think 'cotton rich' means anything from 97% cotton down to 50%. Have a feeling you can search by fabric on Pure Collection as well.

Woolovers for wool, silk, cotton avd cashmere blend jumpers.

DontFundHate · 26/01/2018 13:18

Does viscose last as long as natural fibres?

John Lewis and h and m tips are awesome! Thanks all

poetry and wrap (same group one slightly older one slightly younger)

fishfingerdinner · 27/01/2018 22:29

This seems to be the way I have to shop these days which is crazy- check the fabric label first, i disregard 95% based on the fact it's viscose or polyester...drives me mad!

Ollivander84 · 27/01/2018 23:15

Second woolover. Sizes come up big, I got a jumper in merino and cashmere, am a 32JJ size 14/16 and needed a medium. Feels lovely and customer service was great when the first one was too big

Rainatnight · 27/01/2018 23:21

Agree with Uniqlo.

I was looking in Hobbs the other day and was shocked by how much was man made fibre. £89 blouses in viscose. It's so cheeky.

allthecoffeeplease · 27/01/2018 23:37

Lanabambini.co.uk for wool vests

AnnabelleLecter · 27/01/2018 23:55

John Smedley for cotton and wool jumpers, cardies etc.
I have a 100% wool blazer from Hobbs
and 100% wool skirt from M&S both bought a few years ago for work.
I also have wool jumpers from Superdry and H&M which I've had a few years and still look good.

Ofthread · 27/01/2018 23:59

Viscose is natural, or ‘natural’, like bamboo is.

Ofthread · 28/01/2018 00:01

See also: lyocell.

Ofthread · 28/01/2018 00:05

Merino can be very cruel, if that’s a concern to you, I won’t link because it’s quite shocking. Just want to get the point across that natural materials can be very problematic too, particularly when it comes to environmental and cruelty concerns. I also like wool and silk as much as the next person, unfortunately.

CountFosco · 28/01/2018 08:18

Viscose is natural, or ‘natural’, like bamboo is.

But very processed.

LightastheBreeze · 28/01/2018 08:39

A lot of shops that use to sell cotton now use viscose in some of their garments, Boden, Joules and Whitestuff, I am looking at you. I am not keen on it, maybe because of its tendency to shrink and it goes a bit hard and shrivelled sometimes, its all a bit unreliable

silkpyjamasallday · 28/01/2018 08:50

Look at the premium ranges at H&M, Mango and Zara, usually lots of natural fabrics cotton and silk blends, merino wool, cashmere etc.
