New to dying my hair, can I just cover odd strands?

Help, not sure if this is even possible. I have few grey hairs amongst my very dark hair. Do I have to dye all of my hair or is there a way of just covering the grey ones and leaving the rest naturally colored.
Is that a really stupid question?

If you use a colour dispositing shampoo, it will pick up on the greys without affecting the rest of your hair colour.

Sounds interesting, no idea what that is but will google! Thanks!

I want to know what that is too!

I have only a few greys - but am fed up of plucking them out.

Any recommendations for really dark, non colored hair?

Ooh I want to know this too - my hair is very dark and don't want to colour it all either.

Me too about the plucking....and always when sitting in traffic in the car....stationary of course but don't the grey ones shine in the mirror!

Not the best link but first one which came up and it explains the idea well enough.

They are basically shampoos/conditioners with a bit of dye in them.
The dye is subtle so it won't build up on your hair but will gradually add colour to the grey.

DO these actually work though? We see threads on here all the time from people saying that semi perm dye doesn’t cover their stubborn grey so I can’t see how a conditioner or shampoo will

Mylady · 24/01/2018 12:55

Semis blend grey not cover it - plus the gradually washout so no growth line. Tjey are not 'perfect' but great for a few greys in darker hair and great gor blonds till really quite grey.

I have bought some Colour Effects from Superdrug today.

Will give it a go. Was only £1.99 so no loss if it's rubbish.
