anyone else get fed up with ghastly colour trends?

Just been shopping and everywhere there is mustard, black and bright blue.
For someone with fair hair and complexion, pretty much the least flattering colours, especially mustard - yuk! But almost no clothes in any other colours available!!

Couldn't find red, pink, soft blue, teal, grey, cream.

The pastel colours will reappear in a month or two.

I we're at that awkward inbetween phase with the seasons at the moment and the stores aren't ordering much in. I noticed today when I went out shopping. Try again in afew weeks when they get the spring stuff in.

I have a lovely mustard jumper but it's more yellow than the ones around this year. I love the bright blue though

I hate pastels, but I love mustard. I’m stocking up on it to see me through the awful pastel and ‘jewel’ colours that do nothing for my colouring.

I know what you mean though - I got furious with maternity wear for being in so many unflattering colours.

There is some apple green around! I have been beside myself with excitement about this and proudly dazzled my entire office in my new H&M shirt last week.

Spring is good for colour. Can't wait for the mustard and burgundy to go. I look like a corpse in both.

Ah, see, I am an autumn and mustard is one of my best colours. Have been snapping things up!

Whereas grey, pink and soft blue do nothing for me. Am sure they (or other colours) will be back next season while autumn colours get forgotten for a while.

I realise my ghastly colours will be someone else's dream colours. It just seems stupid to have the shops full of items in such a limited colour range.

I've noticed a lot of bright red all of a sudden.

Ooh, where's apple green? I absolutely love green clothes but you don't see much of it about.

Leccy Next have lots of greens in at the moment. My only bugbear with Next is that their quality hasn't increased with their prices so when you spend £45 on a jumper it'll still go bobbly inside a couple of weeks.

I forget how awful mustard (shades of orange) look on me every 20 years or so and splash out on something that looks hideous with my colouring.

I guess everyone follows the same trends now, but it's a right pain when that seasons trends do nothing for you and you want to spend some bloody money!

I’m winter colouring and look shit in most pastel colours, I look good in the colours round about Christmas- reds, emerald greens, bright blues and purples.

I feel your pain- I rarely buy clothes in summer cos it all looks shit on me.

How do you find out what colours are 'your' colours and what doesn't work? I pick clothing based on what colours I like as colours, I'm not sure what doesn't look 'right' on me.

Well was reading about what is coming in and its definetly pastel colours yuk! Not really my thing. Sequins is also big for spring summer. Also cargo trousers - especially those with a wide leg. Oh and carrying two bags. One across the body and the other with a handle. So there you go!!!

When I did my ‘colours’, I realised that I constantly bought and then discarded clothes which were colours I liked, but that didn’t suit me. I’ve bought a million white shirts cos I love the look, but they don’t love me back! By sticking more to colours I know suit me, I don’t buy and waste stuff I like but that I look awful in.

In my quest for green clothes, I came across these nice things in New Look. Love organic cotton basics, nice colour ranges here too.

What frustrates me is that this also happens with the shape/cut of clothes.

So you not only have to wait out those times when there's nothing in your colour, but when your colours are in, there might no longer be anything in a suitable shape!

For me, on the highstreet, the two things only align once in a blue moon, so ebay and fabric shops love me, now .

Same here, I also need summer colours. Who has made the rule that in winter time, everybody must wear dark? What's wrong with light and bright coloured clothes in winter fabrics? The weather is dark and depressing enough, I don't need to add to it.

And I hear about cut/shape and colour never matching. It was just recently when all shops were full of beautiful pastels...in most hideous boxy cuts.

I love the colours that are available at the moment. I'm pale with dark eyes and mustard, burgundy, navy, moss green etc are perfect for me. I dread pastel colours because they look terrible on me and I can't wear blue at all.

But the tide will turn and I'll be back to struggling to find clothes and you'll like the colours in the shops.

My apple green shirt was H&M. It is polyester which is a downside but it is less than 20 quid. There are some other green bits in there too.

I find Zara ok for greens too. But generally don't fit in their cuts very well as am short and stocky

I'm a jewel winter so pastels make me look like I've been sick.
