Jolene bleach to make blonde if that would work or threading??

lakehouse · 09/01/2018 22:01

Take her for threading. Not too painful and effective for facial hair.

mirandasings · 09/01/2018 22:02

Waxing

Palomi · 09/01/2018 22:06

Threading!

EnidButton · 09/01/2018 22:07

Facial razors. Might be sold as eyebrow razors. I use these ones for the fluff on my jaw (pale white skin dark hair) m.lookfantastic.com/lilibeth-of-new-york-brow-shaper-baby-pink-set-of-2/11283159.html?affil=thggpsad&switchcurrency=GBP&shippingcountry=GB&thg_ppc_campaign=71700000026979850&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4bGiivLL2AIVQbsbCh11Wg2SEAQYAiABEgLIkfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJ7swIzyy9gCFUbhGwodMeIFIA

Having little sideburns is usual though so advise she doesn't remove all of them, it might look a bit odd if she gets carried away.

Catwhisperer1976 · 09/01/2018 22:14

She has very dark hairs

Try hot wax.
Epiloderm is an excellent salon brand to look for (reduces regrowth pretty quickly compared to other waxes and is less painful than strip waxing).

I've found that threading can make the hairs grow in all sorts of directions and make them more obvious, but that's just my experience Smile

Hauntedlobster · 09/01/2018 22:20

Threading initially then when it comes back by a threading stick for her to use.

Missonihoni · 09/01/2018 22:22

Wax is best for dark hair take her to an Asian waxer.

Bebespain · 09/01/2018 22:55

Felt compelled to post and say I had my sideburns threaded for the first time not long ago and it was unbearably painful. I'm not a wuss, I have other areas done.
I wouldn't advise for a young person, sorry.

HastingsLikeTheBattle · 09/01/2018 22:58

Would anyone recommend waxing for dark upper lip hair for an 11 year old? I know it bothers her, but I’m not sure it bothers her that much to put up with really painful removal (non waxer here!).

RavingRoo · 09/01/2018 23:03

She’s too young to lazer. Try bleaching if she is pale skinned (white pale, not Indian pale). Alternatively get them threaded until she’s 16 and can use laser

RavingRoo · 09/01/2018 23:05

Never wax a child. It will ruin their skin. Threading is the only method that won’t lead to problems further down the line

CuriousCurly · 09/01/2018 23:06

As long as she's not very dark skinned then jolene will work fine. I'm mixed, I use jolene and it doesn't show up. Do not let her remove it but any method at this age.

EnidButton · 10/01/2018 00:16

I wouldn't advise waxing for anyone under 16, maybe even 18. Just because her skin will be sensitive and waxing can cause skin damage. Threading hurts and she'll have to let it grow in between. Bleach is fine but can make it more obvious. Hair removal creams burn on delicate skin. The skin razors are the safest option imo and age can do it as often as she likes.

EnidButton · 10/01/2018 00:19

age = she

Maverick66 · 10/01/2018 00:22

Would you consider laser hair removal?
Expensive but worth it when done right.
DD had her sideburns done.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/01/2018 00:28

Hastings as pp say waxing isn't advised on children.
DD (11) uses Veet Sensitive Facial Hair Remover on her dark upper lip area. It lasts long enough so we only have to do it every school holiday (though last time was August.)
Just remember to do the patch test. We did the patch test twice, once on arm hair & then again on a patch of upper lip hair just to make doubly sure it would be ok.

HannaSolo · 10/01/2018 00:30

Facial razors are the way to go.

You can get them on amazon - these are my favourites.

SHISEIDO 3 Piece Prepare Facial Razor, Large, 0.5 Pound https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004RDBUSM/ref=cmswwrcppapi_63vvAb7QMMYHQ

I don't have dark hair but I find when I use them my skin is actually better (exfoliating effect?) and make up looks better.

Regrowth isn't heavier.

They are pain free and easy to use.

GlitterBurps · 10/01/2018 00:39

I would say I threading but trim the hair first as the longer it is the more painful and it takes longer.

Catwhisperer1976 · 10/01/2018 07:07

She has olive skin. Thank you for all your advices :)
