Curling hair- do some people not suit curled hair?

I really want to be able to curl my hair for special occasions but when I've tried, it always looks crap! Is it my inability or do some people not suit curled hair?

When I've curled with a wand or ghds, the curls are uneven, messy and usually drop.

I want a polished look for nights out so I don't look the same as I do for work every day

I look like Hagrid with curled hair, i’ve fine, poker straight hair usually and decided to get the Babyliss curl thingy.. not a good look for me.

Have you given it many tries? I used to be bloody awful but now I swear by my wand!

Just try to make sure each section is an even size not to big and I always hairspray to set them ☺️

And I always do it on day 2 hair!

For a reallyspecial occasion it's possibly worth paying for blowdry? Mine looks OK nice when the hairdresser does it as they manage to get shine and curl. And they last for days. Leaving it to dry naturally looks dull and a mess and curling it when wet doesn't last at all. Also, never sure what to do with a fringe if have curly hair.

*curling it when wet > dry, I mean.

I look like I've been dragged through a hedge when I use my wand.

Yes for very special occasions I would go to the salon but I want to be able to do something for a meal out/drink with the girls just so it looks like I've made a bit of an effort

Does your hair even want to curl, or is it naturally straight?

carrottopper · 04/01/2018 00:01

It has a slight wave/kink but it never dries naturally in a way I would dare leave the house so I blow dry it
