My hair is highlighted, straight with kink and fine (mid bob length). I need a good, reasonably priced hair dryer. My hair dries v wet quickly but can looking fluffy.

My hair is fine, straight and highlighted. I have a GHD and couldn't believe how much difference it made. It was pretty expensive, but was worth it. (I had looked at the Dyson ones but just couldn't pay that much for a hairdryer, no matter how good - and I believe the Dyson has mixed reviews.)

Thanks - which GHD do you have?

Parlux thickens my hair nicely while keeping glossy. It’s pricey (£70-80) but I’ve had it 10 years already

Which Parlux do you have Blue bell and Unicorn ?

Milky - I'm away fro home at the moment and can't remember which one it was. I've had it for a couple of years and it was over 100 pounds from John Lewis, I think. I've also heard good things about Parlux. My hairdresser says the key thing is to look for a hairdryer with 'ions' (whatever that is). At the moment I'm using MIL's spare one and it just isn't the same.

BluebellGal · 03/01/2018 13:05

I have the compact one (but it’s not very compact!) I see they are available for £69.99 on lookfantastic

I have justified the price of the Parlux now. Reckon I would have got through 2 normal hairdryers in 10 years. Warning though - sometimes it doesn’t work abroad as it’s too powerful for voltage in some places

TheChineseChicken · 03/01/2018 13:09

Definitely Parlux

I’ve tried Parlux and the Dyson - the spinning studio I use happen to have the changing rooms. I have shoulder length fine to medium texture depending on weather and the GHD Aura I have is way above these.
