Hi

Would love some advice on brows. I understand they can really shape your face. I think mine are pretty ok shape. Whenever I get them waxed they look very similar but a bit tidier. Is there a lot more too it. Should I get his brows. I don't want to look overdone but would love to make the best of what I have.
They just always look the same....
what am I doing wrong?

I've always had mine waxed but recently started to have them tinted as well and they look so much better. They look neater and fuller. Would recommend you try tinting before HD brows.

pret · 01/01/2018 18:57

I've recently been doing mine lighter than usual. They look great.

I had got into the habit of thinking they needed to be a feature.

squoosh · 01/01/2018 19:35

Mine are naturally blonde and a bit indistinct. Tinting them with Refectocil once a month makes all the difference. I'm not a fan of overly defined and overly dark eyebrows. Tattooed eyebrows are the worst of all.

intelligentPutty · 01/01/2018 21:38

Maybe tinting is the way to go.
What's Refectocil?

An Aussie brand of eyelash and brow dye you can get from Amazon.

I use Eylure from Boots.

I get my eyelashes tinted and permed every 7 weeks. When I'm there, I get my eyebrows tinted and shaped.

Every couple of weeks or so, I get my brows threaded.

Zeldaaa · 01/01/2018 22:03

I have hd brows done every 3-4weeks. I have dark hair and thicker eyebrows already but it’s amazing the difference a tint does. If you do go down the tinting route make sure they don’t do them too dark.

intelligentPutty · 01/01/2018 22:14

I'm already dark haired anyway. Not sure what it would do ... how can I make sure!! It's so tricky. I just want them to make it look good ! Ha.

Get them tinted and invest in some good brow products.

Loonoonow · 01/01/2018 22:31

I am in my late 50s and had HD brows for the first time last month. I am very impressed.
The shape is good with a nice arch (as I requested). I was insistent that at my age I didn't want the 'drawn on with a Sharpie' look and so they were careful with the dye. Possibly a little too careful as it took three applications to get any definition at all but when it eventually took it looked great. . It has also lasted longer than normal eyebrow dye which often disappears in a week on me. I am rebooking for next weekend.

Gingernaut · 01/01/2018 23:27

What is the HD Brows method/what are HD brows?

Theonlyoneiknow · 01/01/2018 23:31

I had terrible over plucked eyebrows. Started growing them back and having HD brows once a month. Had them microbladed recently and they look great and need no maintenance!

Loonoonow · 01/01/2018 23:43

Gingernaut. As I understand it HD brows is a brand name for a shaping and colouring treatment for brows that includes waxing, trimming, shaping and dying that gives very defined brows. The dye is supposedly stronger and longer lasting than standard brow dye.

It is often used as a shorthand term for the very black, heavy, straight brows that a lot of young women favour at the moment but they don't have to be that way. If you get a good practitioner you can get a result that is defined and long lasting but more age appropriate.

Bridechilla · 01/01/2018 23:49

I think advice from a professional is good. I barely wear makeup but iv has HD brows. I've found they've helped me understand what shape my brows should be and where the issues are (bald spots, funny shape etc).

I've only had it done a couple of times and I really grew them out beforehand. I won't be going back since I feel like I know what I'm doing. Now I use the eyelure dye and although I've not found the best day to day products I'm pretty happy with the shape.

I want to try boybrow next, heard really good Hingis and hey shop to the UK now!

Bridechilla · 01/01/2018 23:50

*things Hmm

crazycatgal · 01/01/2018 23:56

I wouldn't say that HD brows is a term for black, heavy brows Confused it's just the name of a brow treatment which involves several steps such as threading, waxing and tinting.

Bridechilla · 02/01/2018 00:04

Not necessarily, they can be tailored crazy for example I completely skipped the makeup stage as I felt it looked ott

crazycatgal · 02/01/2018 00:08

@Bridechilla I know that they can be as heavy/light etc as you want, I was replying to @Loonoonow saying that HD brows is a term for heavy black brows.

Bridechilla · 02/01/2018 00:12

Ah misread that completely, apologies

squoosh · 02/01/2018 00:16

I agree that in a lot of people's minds the words 'HD Brows' conjures up an image of Sharpie brows.

Auldspinster · 02/01/2018 08:04

There's a pixiwoo video on HD brows that shows the technique quite well.

intelligentPutty · 02/01/2018 22:25

Just watching CBB (sorry!) and see Emma Willis eyebrows. I'd like them like that I think. Mind she is so beautiful so that's a target to aim for. (In my dreams!!)

It seems like the cutting as much as the shaping and colouring.

I thought exactly the same about EWs eyebrows. I have booked my second HD brows for next week and might take a picture of her to show them what I am hoping for.

intelligentPutty · 04/01/2018 17:13

Think I might do the same !!
