Eyeshadow palette

I've got myself into a make up rut. I have lots of lipsticks, highlighters, blushers, but my eye make up is always the same - mascara and winged black eyeliner. I want to buy myself an easy to use palette that I can get lots of looks out of. I was tempted by the Naked palettes - are they worth it? Or has anyone got any other recommendations? I'm pale, dark hair with chestnut through the ends, hazel eyes. Most of my other make up is Mac/lancome etc so I don't mind spending a bit if it's worth it.

I love naked palettes

Naked 1 is amazing! I love it and it lasts forever.

I have an eyeshadow palette habit that is bordering on an addiction. I also have vaguely similar colouring to you, although my eyes are more green than hazel.

I bought the Naked 3 palette but eventually gave it away to my blue eyed daughter - the colours were just too neutral for me. My eyes are very deepest and neutrals tend to just look muddy. I like more of a statement look and always want a metallic sheen.

ATM I love my Huda Textured Rose Gold Palette, the UD Gwen Stefani palette and (probably the best as it has the biggest range of colours and isn't TOO expensive) the OPV Gorgeous II palette (opvbeauty.co.uk). All of these have a good mix of pearl, shimmer and matte and include burgundy type shades that make green/hazel eyes pop.

I am not skilled at application. I tend to use my fingers to apply a pale neutral ( and normally shimmery) shade across the whole lid with extra concentration on the inner socket. Then I brush a darker shade on the outer lids and into the socket and blend, blend, blend. if I want to look dressy I will use a purple or burgundy tone applied damp with a thin brush as an eyeliner. Doing both eyes takes under a minute this way.

I also love the Sleek makeup I-divine palettes. They are about £9 each and have great pigmentation and I take these with me if I am going away and don't want to risk the more expensive sets getting broken or lost. . I am fighting my impulse to buy the UD Heavy Metal Palette which is currently reduced. I long for it, but I don't need it.

The bourjois ones are good.

Naked heat! Anastasia modern renaissance. Naked 3. Naked classics. Too faced have lots of lovely ones too. The make up revolution ones are decent for the price.

Take a look at NYX’s range of palettes; I have five different ones and love them all! The colours are highly pigmented and have great staying power. Good range of colours and relatively affordable too!

Sleek eye palettes are amazing - under £10, great quality product and nearly as good as the Naked palettes. Make sure you get an eye primer too though - Rimmel's one is cheap and as good as the Urban Decay one I've found.
