Dry cuticles

I get really dry skin around my fingernails and sometimes get little cuts from too much hand washing. I apply handcream on the main part of my hands after every wash but is there something I can put around my nails specifically to prevent nasty hang nails?

I use the clarins blue orchid face oil on mine. Massage in a drop before bedtime (and on toes). Smells divine too.

I love Weleda Skin Food. It's almost like a barrier cream so it's hard to wash off. I apply every time I think about it (I have a cold and am also smearing it under my nose). It seems to help the cracking skin, though I still have to be scrupulous about cutting hangnails.

I like Lush Lemony Flutter

I’ve been using the Margaret Dabbs cuticle serum- got it in the Liberty AC. Was sceptical but it’s sorted out mine, my cuticles are looking better than they have in years!

Wilkos have a big range of nail polish/nail care etc. They have these pen this with oil in them that you just put on your nails and/or cuticles. It’s just like a felt pen. They’re very good and quite cheap too.

Nuxe Lip Balm from M&S is also brilliant for dry cuticles. I massage some in to each nail every evening and it sorted my dry cuticles out

Flexitol Nail & Cuticle cream. The tube is a bit shit so I decant it into an old vaseline tin.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't know flexitol did stuff for hands, it sorted out my feet so hopefully it may sort out my Hands too Smile

You need a cuticle oil. Solar oil, dadi oil and avoplex are the best ones otherwise Burts bees lemon cuticle balm is lovely. Apply as often as poss for a couple of weeks then once or twice a day / overnight.
