Been using it all over face for four nights, having a flare up where it is worst on right cheek - did this happen to anyone else?

Yes that’s really normal. I have red (inflamed follicles and small spider veins) rather than bumpy rosacea and I even got a few bumps about a week into using it.

There’s a good U.K. Facebook group for rosacea where people have posted their photos of their faces at various stages on Soolantra - would recommend checking it out.

Yes it's almost like the mites are fighting back. It gets better.

I had some slight sensitivity to start with but my skin has been amazing since then! Gutted Soolantra can only used for max 4 months as will be really sad to have my vile spots back again Sad

Soolantra helps to kill off the cause of the rosacea. My skin was much bettet after a few weeks and the spots didn't return if that helps? Still have some redness which is the end of the rosacea unfortunately, probably need lasers!

I had a small flare up about 1 week into using it, which quickly got better and it has worked great since Smile I've used it for a while (a couple of years perhaps, I don't remember exactly when I started) so am interested why Butterflyate1975mincepies can only use it for 4 months?

Butterflyate1975mincepies · 30/12/2017 18:27

Polarlight I'm not sure- that's what GP told me and its on the prescription label not to use longer than 4 months. I might go back and check with GP as its been so fantastic!

Brief moment of eww

Thanks Butterflyate1975mincepies. I know when I asked initially my derm said it was fine to use long term (I was worried it might lose it's effectiveness but apparently not), but it was a relatively new medicine at that time so the advice could well have changed (if side effects have been found etc). Let's hope not! It was such a relief to finally find something that worked. giddyupnow - I used a smaller amount after mine worsened at the beginning - I think I was being a bit heavy handed tho in my desperation for it to work! But from what I understand it can worsen anyway as the previous poster explained so I'd hang on in there. Good luck Smile
