Bikini line - shaving rash

Hi,

How can I stop getting a rash after shaving down there? I have used both an electric shaver and disposable one. I use soap or liquid soap. Should I be using something else? Is there a cream out there (I know VEET is too strong and would burn) that would do the job?

Help - it happens every time! I don't want to end up with an infection.

I think it's the soap. I stick with shaving gel (men or womens) and very rarely get a rash. I find soaking in a hot bath is best, if my skin isn't warm enough I will get an itchy rash. I know it's not always possible but it does work for me. Sudocreme is very good for the rash though!

I used to get this and thought I couldnt use razors on bikini line any more. But found if you shave in a downward direction - follow direction of hair rather than shaving upwards against it, no rash appears. I have v sensitive skin & was amazed this works, hope it works for you too.

Yes you shaving cream specifically for sensitive areas, good razors, hot shower and go with the direction of the hair. Also keep it up, don't let it regrow too much between shaves.

I have sensitive skin applying aloe Vera gel after shaving helps.

I think I'll invest in better razors and shaving cream. I do tend to go upwards instead of downwards so I'll try the other way next time!

Thanks all.

I read an article about this, an exotic dancer swore by baby oil to shave down there with and she should know! 😂

Wearing knickers straight after shaving can make this happen because the fabric rubs the freshly shaved skin. You could try shaving just before bed, assuming that means you won't be wearing underwear for a while.

I use a good men's razor the the batteries, I find them sharper and get closer to the skin, I use conditioner as shaving gel
