Recommend me a shampoo

I've used Tresemme for quite some time but noticed that recently my hair is greasy quite quickly afterwards, so looking for recommendations for a decent shampoo.

My hair is dyed blonde (highlights) & I'm 40 now (in case either matters!)

TIA.

Provoke Touch of Silver shampoos are great IME.

TheweewitchRoz · 28/12/2017 15:35

Thanks - can you buy that in regular shops or is it from a hairdressers only?

Think you can get that at supermarkets. My daughter likes the Fudge violet shampoo from Amazon

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/12/2017 15:59

I love Aveda Shampure (bought myself a 250ml bottle recently because I have very short hair) love the smell of it and the condition it leaves my hair.

They do some hair colour specific ones - Blue Malva might suit you or Camomile ?

gingerclementine · 28/12/2017 16:17

Aveda shampoo is absolutely gorgeous, I agree.

I use (recommended on here) L'Oreal Elvive fibrology as it thickens the hair and it keeps its body for longer.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 28/12/2017 16:27

I love ultimate blends as I makes my hair feel really light and full of body when it is super fine.

mamalovebird · 28/12/2017 17:37

Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde range is great. I use the violet shampoo once a week and the everyday shampoo & conditioner the rest of the time. Smells wonderful too.

tehmina23 · 28/12/2017 18:29

I like label M colour stay shampoo (from Toni & Guy salons) as I have highlighted hair, I'm 41 & my hair is quite fine.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/12/2017 18:46

lush shampoo bar jason and the argonoughts (sp?) is lovely

Alicecooperslovechild · 28/12/2017 18:47

Liz Earle shampoo and conditioner is gorgeous.

UncomfortableBadger · 28/12/2017 18:58

If you get oily quickly, try the L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay range. Has been a Godsend for me!

bingohandjob · 28/12/2017 19:04

I've got blonde highlights - Bleach Live Forever Shampoo, Joico Color Endure Shampoo & Conditioner, and the silver one recommended but use it sparingly unless you are ash blonde. I've also started skipping conditioner every other wash or so and noticed (along with using Morrocanoil Light or L'Oreal Extraordinary Hair Cream) marked improvement in colour longevity and golden tones.

Bert2e · 28/12/2017 19:12

Go for anything that doesn't have silicone in the shampoo - I have fine hair and find that silicone weighs it down and makes it look greasy.

littlepoppett · 28/12/2017 23:46

I have really fine hair and have been using a shampoo and conditioner called 'fast' I purchased it off eBay. It is really good, I am surprised how fuller my hair is already and longer.

neonpink · 29/12/2017 00:06

change shampoo every wash - cycle through a few. use dry shampoo between washes.

MontyPythonsFlyingFuck · 29/12/2017 00:14

Molton Brown Plum-kadu glossing shampoo. Most of their range is shit, but I discovered this on a weekend in a super-posh hotel and have since bought it with my own money.

Also, anything by Kerastase if you can find a variety that suits you The white with orange lids does it for me.

TheweewitchRoz · 29/12/2017 09:23

Thank you - appreciate the tips!

I agree with changing shampoo every wash. I have highlights and alternate between the Provoke blonde shampoo and the Korres shampoo for coloured hair (this shampoo is lovely!)

youvegottobekidding · 29/12/2017 09:49

DH got me some Aussie shampoo & conditioner for Christmas, he got the nourishing shampoo & miracle shine conditioner, I've used them twice & im quite impressed, my hair really did look shiny & managed to go 3 days without it looking greasy & although I do have relatively thick hair anyway, my hair felt fuller. I colour my hair regularly & it's quite dry but this left it quite soft.

Housewife2010 · 29/12/2017 09:57

Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo is an excellent clarifying shampoo which you use weekly to remove any styling product/silicone build up. It's also excellent if your hair is greasy but doesn't dry out my usually normal hair.

thegamblersmrs · 29/12/2017 10:04

I love aveda shampoos but they don't preserve or maintain my colour.

Provoke touch of silver £2.99, gives your hair that nice ash tone and slightly dries it out of you use the intensive one every week. Means it doesn't go too greasy and keeps colour for longer.

sulee · 29/12/2017 17:03

I have baby fine hair and second changing shampoo regularly. I am often disappointed with shampoos others rave about. My latest find is Waitrose essential daily care shampoo -79p and really good for me- leaves my hair lovely and swishy!

TheweewitchRoz · 29/12/2017 19:42

You're all fab, thanks!

Nioxin system 3 for coloured hair is amazing- especially the conditioner which weirdly you apply to roots but doesn’t weigh hair down at all and leaves hair glossy but not greasy. Gives you lots of volume and promotes healthy hair growth

You buy from salons or online (eg Lookfantastic
