Babyliss Big Hair Styler

I’ve heard great things about this styler, and am contemplating getting one to help my poor blow drying skills and help smarten myself up! However, my hair is just below shoulder length, very fine and thinning. It is just starting to grow stronger, so don’t want to risk anything too harsh! Just wondering if anyone could advise me if they think the styler would be of use on my type of hair, or just another gadget that would gather dust! I’m thinking the heat can only be same as using my normal hairdryer and brush, but wondering how much the spinning would damage my thin hair ... if at all? Any advice? Thanks.

I don’t think that the spinning would harm your hair. It’s not that fast.

I have almost wait length hair which is fine but thick. I love my Babyliss Big Hair - it does get tangled sometimes if I use the spinner so I usually use it without and get great results, similar to my salon blow dry, if used with the right products. Another great option would be T3 luxe rollers which give a similar finish but with less effort!

Have you though about taking a supplement like Nutrihair to help strengthen your hair? I find it works wonders on my hair.

I've had mine for years and still use several times a week! I've had a thinning hair issue too and the Big Hair styler hasn't damaged my hair at all. In fact it creates fuller, smoother hair than anything else I've ever used. Buy one. I don't think you'll regret it!

I'm going to buy one after reading this! I have what I assume is a similar thing but mines a Vidal Sassoon and the brush isn't very grippy.
I'm in Australia though and the Babyliss don't look as easy to find Sad

Thanks for your replies. Glad to hear that the spinning brush isn’t too fast, and hasn’t caused any damage to already thinning hair. The rollers look interesting but I’ve been advised not to use ghds etc much on my hair.( I would definitely have tried them with my previous head of hair though!) I think I will treat myself to the Babyliss big hair next week after reading your posts, and being reassured- thank you!

I have one and really like the finish it gives. My hair is long and thick though and it takes me ages to do well. There are two speed settings on the brush so it can be set slower if you are worried about breakage. It isn’t hard on your hair though.

DD borrowed one for for her wedding. It wouldn't grip her very fine hair

Redrobinonspade · 28/12/2017 19:25

Goose1964- Can I ask how long your daughters hair was? I did wonder how well it would grip the shorter, finer hairs on the top of my head ...that have finally started growing!
