Nude eye shadow

I know I'm massively behind the curve but I've noticed recently that everyone seems to be wearing nude eyeshadow. I want some but don't even know where to start with choosing. I had a baby 3 years ago who was quite ill (as was I) - he's only just stopped needing hospital appointments every few weeks, and I'm finally feeling like I have room in my brain to concentrate on my appearance again. So what should I get? I have a £40 Debenhams voucher to spend - are the urban Decay Naked palettes worth it? Which one is best? How should I blend, what effect should I be aiming for? Any advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance.

I have the Naked 2 from UD and it’s great quality but there are quite a few very dark or shimmery blocks in there. I’ve recently been using the L’Oreal mixed palettes which are really great quality for the money. One is called Rose I think and the other is something like Nude or Beige, can’t quite remember. But between them they have all the nude shades you could want.

Just checked and it’s Loreal Colour Riche palette in Nude and Nude Rose.

I really like Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Au Natural. Really quick and easy for everyday.

Thanks both, I'm off to the shops tomorrow so will have a look then :)

What's your colouring? Makes a big difference re. what I'd recommend!

mac quarry as a suit everyone nude with a bit of depth?? Im crap at make up and i feel like i have looked clown-ish. id also go for an urban decay palette, the nude 2 basics looks like a good starting point for everyday wear or darker with powder under lashes for evenings or more
glam. you could also buy a nice brush with a £40 budget. have fun.

Another vote here for the Laura Mercier eyestick in Au Naturel. Very easy to apply and to carry around.

I have light brown hair, pale skin and grey-green eyes, if that makes a difference?

Try Nyx - cheap, good and you can create your own palette.

I don't think you're massively behind the curve as you're spot on with UD naked for a good nude palette. I have similar colouring to you and I highly rate the Naked Basics 2 which is more cool toned. It only has one quite dark colour and one slightly shimmered colour and the 3 or so in between are all lovely matte nudes which go on like a dream. I've got other palettes but like the UD one best as they're easy to blend and not at all scratchy or chalky plus they have good staying power once on. For me anyway!
I think you definitely deserve a treat for yourself and a nice quality palette you'll get loads of use from is perfect. Smile

I really like both the maybelline colour tattoo cream eyeshadow and the revlon colourstay cream eyeshadow. Both ranges do some nice nudes and light browns. They are easy to apply quickly with your fingers, they don't budge and look lovely with just a slick of mascara. A great everyday easy nude eye.

The Naked 2 palette I was talking about was the full sized one, not the same as the Basics one Botanic is referring to, hence why I said there were a few shimmery and very dark colours. Google to see the difference.
