Eyeshadow brushes?

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 26/12/2017 22:03

Hi hoping for some recommendations.

I received some nice eyeshadow palettes for Christmas, specifically urban decay naked basics ultimate and realised that my eyeshadow brushes are rubbish.

I think I want a blending brush and some general eyeshadow brushes.

I have an ok budget but open to suggestions.
Thanks

Urban decay make some great brushes - I use two one small and fluffy and a flatter one. Was so impressed I bought some for my Mum for Christmas so would definitely recommend

NYX in Boots. I have a couple and I'm impressed

Body Shop also excellent

Watching with interest as I also got some nice eyeshadows and realised my brushes were crap!
I've heard Real Techniques are good

Ollivander84 · 26/12/2017 23:28

Real techniques
Spectrum
Zoeva

All good!

Notonaschoolnight · 26/12/2017 23:36

I like zoeva as you can buy separately

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 26/12/2017 23:42

Thanks. Some to look out for. My current ones are zoeva may be I'm using the wrong brush for the job?

It could be. I tend to use a flatter one for on the lid and packing colour on, and a fluffy one to blend any harsh edges

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 27/12/2017 18:13

Ollivander - thanks for the tips. I’ll look at the zoeva as I like them but think I just have the wrong brushes for what I want.

I brought the real techniques set today. Thanks.

Thanks for that Beketaten I was looking at that one in Boots & it was more than twice that price!

nixso29 · 27/12/2017 19:29

I got a Zoeva set that has about 8-10 brushes specifically for eyes its really good! Have heard Morphe brushes are good and not too expensive either. To be honest i could never get on with Urban Decay shadows they just dont blend right for me

harrietsoton · 27/12/2017 19:29

Mac 238, 224 and 217 are ICONIC. Must haves

harrietsoton · 27/12/2017 19:29

239* even

Sailorjerrycherry · 27/12/2017 19:39

Morphe brushes are amazing and so reasonably priced. Can’t recommend enough. Have some NYX ones also that are good. Peaches & Cream recently launched their own range and I think were doing 4 for £15. Was really impressed with the quality for the price.

I do makeup for weddings etc and have an unholy amount of brushes Blush
My favourite eye ones are Sigma. I like a big fluffy one for base colour, a pencil brush and a smallish dome shaped one for colour, shading and detail then blending. I use Real Techniques for skin (foundation, concealer and liquid blush) but dont really rate their shadow brushes (they were demoted to my personal collection which is where all my unloved products go - my poor face....) The Real Techniques eyeliner brush set is good though - I use a few of the brushes from that quite often - they are synthetic bristles which are quite stiff so work well with gel liners.

PS Pretty sure Peaches & Cream brushes are made by Crown which is a decent and cheap brand. Also Royal & Langnickel are good (esp the Silk Pro range) and reasonably priced.
Yeah I have waaaaaaayyyy too many brushes.....

Sailorjerrycherry · 28/12/2017 00:10

Oh emsy I didn’t know that! Crown are great too for the price so that would make sense! Might get some more! You can never have too many makeup brushes 😊
