Really good 'old lady shoes ' ?

As usual DH and I are struggling for what to buy for his DM.
She is nearly 80 with some balance issues and often struggles a lot with balancing to get her shoes on they seem to swell up quite often.
I have bought her a long handled shoe horn but then inspiration struck that she buys the £10 a pair type shoes that are plastic with no give and heels that lose shape when other under pressure.
So am feeling like I wood bravely like to find her a pair of shoes to give her comfort, support and ease of getting on and off .
They still need to look like the slipper / loafer style though as I need her to at least give them a try !
Any ideas anyone - not sure it's really S&B but any help most welcome !
Tia

Clarks do a loafer style that very elderly people can get on and off o.k.www.clarks.co.uk/c/Georgia/p/00254793. Here they are, My Mum wears these and shes 85.
They look o.k on and are comfortable and not totally old lady looking.

My stylish MIL (same vintage and also dodgy balance), tends to wear funky embellished trainers most days. Her ‘old lady shoes’ only come out when necessary, ie special occasions.

spinduffy · 20/12/2017 19:18

Definitely hotter shoes

smashbake · 20/12/2017 19:20

Yep Hotters are the ones

SilverHawk · 20/12/2017 19:56

If she is still out and about Hotter is probably the best but the other two already mentioned are marvellous for around the house or a quick potter round the garden. It does depend on how bad the swelling gets. My DM can't wear Hotter any more and needs the very comfy, soft velcro type.

Thank you all we are going to go for Hotter calypso but have some other good ideas too now if they don't work.
Appreciate the quick replies !
