I have neglected all forms of foot beautification over the last couple of years due to horrendous plantar fasciitis (sp?). It was the works do on Friday and my 60 year old colleague wore gorgeous sandals with the feet of an actual baby. Beautifully shaped ( not thick) toenails, a chic and very glossy rouge noir shade and smooth, healthy-looking skin. I was obsessed -couldn't stop looking at her perfectly pedicured feet.
She had done it herself with Margaret Dabbs stuff. I have the emu oil and foot file. Used it once and put back in cupboard.

I want nice-looking feet.

I want to get my feet looking more presentable. I don't suffer with too much dry skin but I have a bad habit of picking off my toenails which I need to stop. Blush

BusterGonad · 17/12/2017 17:00

The best thing I've ever used on my feet is a hand cream containing urea. It was so amazing. Other than that my feet are ok, not beautiful but no corns, hard skin or anything else. I also never go bare feet in shoes, I always wear socks or tights or pop socks so shoes never really rub me.

JaceLancs · 17/12/2017 18:46

I love my feet
I do get a bit of hard skin but have a pedi battery roller thing and use the scholl cracked heal cream
I always paint toe nails or have a gel polish
I’m also lucky that I’m only a size 4 with narrow feet (thinnest part of me actually) so they always look quite dainty
At 53 no corns or bunions etc but I have always tried to wear well fitting supportive footwear and only wear heels occasionally

TheOtherGirl · 17/12/2017 18:51

I don't have pretty feet (bit skinny with a small bunion) so have a monthly pedicure to keep them looking as nice as possible.

I favour a classic red polish and I rub a balm into them every night to keep them smooth and soft.

For dry skin you can get a foot mask in poundland. It is basically a polythene sock with moisturiser in. Pop it on and around 20 minutes later baby soft feet. Amazing for a quid.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/12/2017 21:35

I feel your pain OP. I have bunions and my feet are just hiddeous. I usually try to do something about them when summer looms. Far too lazy to care in the winter.

cakedup · 17/12/2017 21:39

My feet are so ugly they make me laugh. They're big with bent big toes and keeping hard skin at bay is always a struggle. However I love wearing flip flops in the summer and just don't give a shit.

Laiste · 17/12/2017 21:49

I have nice feet but i work at it.

I use the ped egg (£6 ish lasts apx 6 months) weekly in the winter, twice weekly in summer always followed by using one of those cheap paddle things with the rough and then the less rough side. Then a really good slather of body cream all over my feet.

If i don't do this i have hard skin within 2 weeks and it's 'orrible and uncomfortable and even itchy. Once you get used to smooth feet you can't not do it. (unless i'm v.ill or heavily preg!)

I've tried those dead skin peely mask things for your feet twice and they didn't work. My conclusion is the regular ped egg'ing plus a good buffing afterwards means there's no dead skin to peel off.

Lanaa · 17/12/2017 21:55

My feet are lovely but they are the most high maintenance part of my body. If I neglect them, my toenails become so thick I can't cut them with a file, and the hard skin gets out of control.

I have a professional pedicure every two weeks, and I keep the hard skin in check weekly by using a microplane file and a Newton's Chiropody sponge. I rub flexibility and Vaseline into them every night.

onlyonaTuesday · 17/12/2017 23:52

My feet were awful until I got Newton chiropodist sponge and flexitol cream

KenForPM · 18/12/2017 01:55

They’re ok... except for horrible thick dry skin on the heels and on the bit under the toes. I went to a podiatrist four and a half years ago and really should go back... Sometimes the skin starts coming off and I just peel it...
My little toe on my left foot is turned outwards. The nails on both little toes are thick and ridged. The nail on the left one doesn’t grow... hasn’t for a long time. It’s at a 45 degree angle to the actual toe so I can’t paint it properly and just dab a little on the very top bit.

Janetjanetjanet · 18/12/2017 02:20

I've got great feet.

Always have them pedicured with a dark red polish.

Shame they're covered up in socks all winter!

Tantpoke · 18/12/2017 18:52

I have nice feet, I use a pumice stone on the hard skin every time I have a shower. In the summer I use CCS foot care cream as neccessary. I always wear bright varnish on my toe nails.

Greenteandchives · 18/12/2017 18:57

My feet are gorgeous. They are my best feature and I am sorry that they don't get out much in the winter. Straight toes, not all bony and gnarly, no corns or anything. I keep them nice and moisturised and my toenails, which are small and neat are always painted.
The rest of me, meh.

Gah81 · 18/12/2017 19:03

I like my feet. A regime of Footner every few months, plus nightly Flexitol and the odd file seem to keep them in decent nick.

I rarely varnish my nails. Instead, I keep them buffed, cut and filed.

BitOutOfPractice · 18/12/2017 19:05

My feet are OK though I have very long toes. Always painted toenails, always. I take better care of them in the summer than winter I must admit

user1955 · 18/12/2017 20:50

What is the cure for thick toe nails? I had lovely feet, then a bout of illness, an injury from a fall and plantar fasciitis meant I stopped bothering. Next time I paid much attention the big and little toes' nails had thickened and although I've sorted the dry feet i don't know where to start to improve the nails so I still hide my feet away.

BoldMcCoo · 18/12/2017 23:04

I have horrid big bent toes and fat feet. Fat toes. Wide fat feet. Awful!

HuskyMcClusky · 19/12/2017 02:59

I have a bad habit of picking off my toenails which I need to stop.

ME TOOOOO!! Sad

It’s the worst habit but I can’t stop. I can’t have a pedi because of this - it’s too embarrassing. Xmas Blush

DameDoom · 20/12/2017 23:18

My big toenails are thick because the insoles I have to put into my shoes have pushed them up - I need to wear them permanently so hey ho.
I have only become obsessed by feet since mine started going horribly wrong.
I have started foot yoga... since last night. Stretching toes makes me vom so time will tell.
