I have wanted my tongue pierced for years now but have been too much of a wimp.

Have decided it's now or never and am going to get it done Monday.... hopefully!

Has anyone had this done recently? Ive had a fair few piercings but the thought of this one scares me Grin

Mainly wanted to know how painful it is and how was the healing process?

I've had mine about 17 years and it actually feels odd to be without it.

Anyway..I was lucky to have no swelling and the length of the longer bar was irritating but was able to move to a smaller one in a week. It did feel like I had the most almighty ulcer or something on my tongue. I've recently used Oraljel for something else and wish I had usd it back then

I got mine early teens, pain wise it was fine. Mine took what felt like ages to heal, swelled really bad, bled a lot and hurt. Once I got bar changed it was fine though.

I even managed to lose just shy of a stone due to not being able to eat.

I haven't had mine done personally. But my dd had it done a while ago. She said the piercing didn't hurt but it was a bit sore after. The swelling was quite bad and she struggled to eat proper food. I made her lots of mad and gravy and other soft food. Ice cream helps. She had her nose pierced recently and she said that hurt more than her tongue.

I managed mash and gravy today! A bit of swelling but not too bad. Hoping to get the bar shortened on Friday if it's looking ok.

The ball underneath has been the most uncomfortable bit, it's made a little hole in the bottom of my mouth where it sits Shock and feels very tender but hopefully that will be improving over the next few days

In my experience it only took like two weeks to fully heal. At first I had a lisp and couldn’t chew but that stopped quickly.

When you change your bar to a shorter one you’ll have a much easier time, it feels HEAVENLY as it’s less heavy and you won’t accidentally bite the bar etc.
