Starting a skincare routine

I’m 23 and I’ve never really bothered properly with skincare because I’ve always had decent skin. I need to start taking care if it but I have no idea where to start. I usually use the garnier micellar water to take my makeup off and whatever face wash is on offer in boots but that’s about it. Normal skin type type (I think?)

Have a google for Caroline Hirons then have a look at her cheat sheets. I've been loosely following for a while and am seeing good improvements.

Thanks I’ve had a look through them and gone through her blog and have a good idea where to start now.

Are you wearing sunblock every day? Proper SPF 50, 5 star UVA, infra red protection sun block?.

Superdrug do a Glycolic acid toner, cheap as chips & cruelty free.

Whatever you do to your face do to your neck too so you don't get a wrinkly neck. I buy a cheaper superdrug factor 50 for my neck & chest.

The Caroline hirons cheat sheets are excellent but I don't like her stance on sunscreen ie it's ok to let the face tan a bit. It's a hell of a lot easier to prevent aging than try to counteract it & the sun to skin is basically radiation damage.

Amazon do LED face masks, the red light & Amber are the ones for collagen production. I would have loved to have one of those at your age but they weren't invented.

No I don’t wear sunscreen Blush I didn’t realise how important it was everyday until I started looking into skincare. My face seems to be the only place that doesn’t catch the sun so it has been extremely neglected in terms of sun protection. I will definitely go out and get some ASAP can you recommend any? The LED masks look really interesting thank you

I use this one but I've got oily skin. Then I use a cheap one from superdrug on my neck/chest.

You have to double cleanse to get it off at night but Caroline hirons blog covers that.

I don't know why more people don't use led masks, it's a no brainier to me. I've seen huge improvements just using a neutrogena one with 20ish LEDs.
