Less expensive products that work as well or better than high end

Been thinking about this for a while, I love to find substitutes for some of my costly favourites, even better if it works better than the original product (so not necessarily a dupe, more a substitute). Anyone swapped out a high end for something more affordable?

Mine recently are:

Waitrose pure hot cloth cleanser £5 - I like this much better than the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser I used to use which costs £16. Also loving the Body Shop camomile cleanser which was recommended on here by lots of people, thanks for that it's great! Normally £10 but there's always a discount so I got it for £6.

Been hunting for a dupe for the Fenty Glow lip gloss as I thought £17 plus postage was a bit much. Finally found Miss Sporty precious shine in Marvellous Mocha (£2.99). I do own the Fenty one now as I bought it in a moment of madness when passing Harvey Nics the other week, but I prefer the formula and staying power of the Miss Sporty one. Colour match is pretty close too.

Sleek professional finishing powder (about £6 - need to buy on eBay/online as it's not stocked by the high street stores) - I use this more than I use my Laura Mercier translucent powder (£29). It's a really beautiful loose powder finely milled doesn't cake at all and has a lovely cooling feeling on the skin. Even accounting for the difference in pack size it's way cheaper.
