Not sure where else to put this sorry.

I just cannot get to grips with the calendar on my phone and want to revert back to a good old organiser.

Can anyone recommend a really nice organiser/ 2018 diary that will keep me up to date and organised.

My DS bought me a Cath Kidston diary for Christmas three years ago and I loved it so much I have bought myself one every year since. It has a week per page with a page for notes, sections for addresses, travel planner, books and films, handy tear off shopping lists and genius pockets ideal for vouchers or tickets. It is compact, so fits well into bags, pockets etc. I rate highly!

Thx
Your son sounds lovely.

I really like Mambi/Happy Planners.

Expensive at first glance but very often reduced so worth waiting for sales or Googling for voucher codes. I thought they were hardback but they're not, so I also bought a case for mine (which has been great as I use the pockets for tickets for upcoming events, storing birthday cards, etc. as well as protecting the planner itself).

Have a look at moleskin, they have a week to view on one side of the page and a full page of notes opposite so you can write notes or lists for that week

I've used this for the last few years despite the name, the organisation columns and layout are v useful.

I have a Mum's Office one which I've been really happy with. It doesn't look like a typical 'Mum' diary from the outside but does have lots of useful organiser pages and also columns per person for each week which I find useful.

I got mine from Amazon as it was cheapest.

Those happy planners look amazing. I buy myself a new diary every year and I'm just never organised enough to use it. Maybe this year is the year. It sounds daft, but any tips to get me going?

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2017 07:47

I’ve asked for The Happiness Planner (not to be confused with the Happy Planner) and I’m hoping it does the trick. If not, I’ll go back to bullet journaling I think.

PerpetualStudent · 13/12/2017 08:44

Do you think you could get into bullet journalling? (fancy time for writing out your own diary with integrated to do lists - search pinterest and youtube for examples/inspiration) I've been doing it this year and it's really improved my organising/time management. You can then choose whatever notebook you like!

MrsPestilence · 13/12/2017 08:49

Dodo Pad spiral bound (with a spiral that lasts all year) so you can leave it open on the week to hand. Have got these for years, because they work so I therefor remember to use them.

irregularegular · 13/12/2017 08:50

Ditto the moleskine weekly planners. Love them. On about my 6th now -
all hardback A5. Lots of lovely colours to choose from.

I now use the 18m one so as not to have that annoying "between calendars" stage. Because it doesn't have as many extra pages it is barely any bulkier.

Kaz2200 · 13/12/2017 16:14

I agree to buying the 18 month one I also have a bobino slim pen which fits inside

BanyanChristmasTree · 14/12/2017 06:37

I have ordered a 12-month Moleskin weekly planner.
My DH thinks I am a technophobe because I can't use the calendar on my phone properly. I want paper and pen!

I love the Moleskine weekly planners and repeat buy every year.

I use the notes page for to-do lists, notes from meetings, forward planning and doodling (when bored). My only slight criticism is that, like nearly all diaries, they have Saturday and Sunday together, whereas I need them to be separate days. But I don't want the self-important bulk of a day-to-page diary. So I make a box on the notes page for Sunday and put Sunday's stuff in there.

I really like the quality of the paper - thin, so the diary isn't bulky, smooth, so nice to write on, opaque, so writing doesn't show through.

How people cope with just electronic diaries baffles me.

AgentProvocateur · 14/12/2017 08:14

I’ve been using the moleskin planners for years. I’ve bought dozens of calendar/diary/organisational apps, but I always revert to my beloved moleskin. Wink

chloechloe · 14/12/2017 08:35

I'm a recent convert to Bullet Journalling (use a Leuchtturm) and love it. The system is genius as it means you configure it to suit your needs (which can change daily), rather than having to find the perfect planner.

LemonShark · 14/12/2017 10:26

I've been using a Filofax for the past seven or eight years. Personal size is the best for me (if you carry a handbag for it), big enough to be able to write comfortably in it, small enough to take everywhere. Choose yourself a nice one and then you just replace the inserts every year. I currently use a black apex one but the saffiano coloured ones are beautiful too. Have a look in paperchase or WH Smith's and see if you like them. They're customisable so you can just have in what you want. I have a to do list, week on two days calendar, birthdays, an address book, note paper, and there are slots for bits of paper.

I love them as they're so durable and won't fall apart like some one use diaries do. And you can easily add in and rip out pages as it's a binder. People think it's an eighties thing but I know so many people my age (late twenties) fully on board with Filofaxes!
