If you had £80 to spend on skincare...

I am 40, have combination skin and prone to spots on my chin and neck. At the same time I have bad 11s (I'm a frowner) but the rest of my face is quite good I think. Skin care currently consists of washing (Moo Goo Milk Wash) and moisturising (varied products), rosehip oil every now and then, and SPF if I'll be outside or if it's sunny. I hate the feeling of anything thick or heavy on my skin. I only wear makeup 3 or 4 times a year.

I want to do something to make me look better - I've read the sizzling threads on here and saw that some posters got great results.

But I'm not sure where to start - and I think 30% GA is not the place. I've been looking at the AlphaH Liquid Gold, and The Ordinary Retinols and Retinoids.

Can anybody help?

Have a look on the ordinary website, there are suggested regimes to target specific concerns. I've been using the ordinary products for about 4 months and they are brilliant!

Which ones do you use, Bored? I've been looking and looking and failing to decide what I should go for!

I'm 41, I use Clinique smart repair serum followed by Clinique Superdefense spf 20 oily to oily combination face cream.... then Clinique primer on the t-zone, a touch of Clinique Stay Matte foundation on my chin where I have got thread veins & Boots No 7 BB cream everywhere else.

I try to follow a skincare routine at night but tend to fall asleep too soon!!

I get compliments on my skin even with just face cream but no make up on so I feel I'm using the right products.
They are expensive but last a long time - a little goes a long way.

I am not an expert, in fact I literally knew nothing so I've been experimenting. I'm currently using buffet, moisture factors with HA and rosehip oil. I've continued using the same cleanser and toner. I had been suffering terribly with large painful spots on my chin and forehead and since using the ordinary products I've had none!

I'm really liking this new line called Lixir Skin - dead easy to use, gets results and doesn't break the bank. I'd go for their universal emulsion, vitamin c paste and cleanser, and maybe the retinol booster. Think that may all be slightly more than £80 but you'd be completely sorted. lixirskin.co.uk
