Please help my hair!

I have abused my hair over the years, constantly changing colours. Recently its looked in an awful state so I decided to dye it brown as I heard hair is healthiest when brown.... maybe I made that up I don't know.

Anyway, seems that last dye had finished it off! It's all snapped off and feels completely like straw.

Can't cut it as it's very short and doesn't really suit me.

Any magical remedies to help?

Ojon damage reverse oil helped my over processed hair. A bottle last's about 6 months for me with daily washing. I also bought the damage reverse mask that comes in a pot but couldn't stand the smell.
Philip Kingsley elasticizer is supposed to strengthen hair too.

Thanks!

Can I buy them from places like Superdrug or do I need to buy them from specialist places?

I look such a mess right now! Short bits of snapped hair sticking up all over the place!

I get it from a boots in the city but they have a website, the company and origins are the same iirc. The damage reverse oik comes in two sizes, if you are going to purchase maybe get the smaller bottle, think it's about £12 so not expensive.
The best place to buy Philip Kingsley is from all beauty.com, you can purchase a trial size from that website. The big bottles of elasticizer are ££'s.

Expensive conditioner's are only a temporary fix IMO :(

Try to grow as much of the damage out (with the conditioner)

Cut the damage out with regular trims, and start again

Once your hair has got to a certain point there's not much you can do. You can use hair masques to try and make your hair appear healthier but all of the damage will eventually need cutting off. Don't use any heat on your hair as well.

This is amazing for damaged hair:

My hair was so thin in the summer due to my hairdresser overlapping the bleach :( so I’ve stopped bleaching now and just letting it all grow out. I also had it cut to shoulder length which helped massively. I hate my hair short but I had no choice, as long as I can put it up still.

5/6 months in its getting longer and thicker every day.

Just stop colouring. Hard I know x

I love redken extreme strength builder plus! It's on amazon, it's a little pricey but I used my last tub twice a week for six months so it lasts well! It made my hair feel so much stronger and softer

There are NO magic products that will stop your hair from snapping from overprocessing. Its just too late. Conditioners are just scaffolding but its gonna snap off at some point.

I was a bit abusive to my hair too. I didnt want to cut my hair either and played around with some styles to hide it. Most people just think I have layers lol

Thanks everyone, will probably try everything!

I'm an idiot, I really damaged it, cut it all off really short and hated it... dyed it more and completely ruined it.

I'll try whatever I can then hopefully be able to cut some off. The strange thing is the back is in really good condition, it's mainly the fringe and the side bits at the front that have been damaged

Redken all soft range worked really well on my frazzled bleached hair.

bettydraper31 · 07/12/2017 20:15

Good luck Op. you’re not an idiot. I’ve done this cycle sooo many times. Only now I’m early thirties have I learned. For now.... lol x

Haha that's the worst thing, I'm itching to change the colour Blush will whack a load of treatments on and sit on my hands!
