MASSIVE spot. Right in time for Christmas party. HELP!

Ok this is a total first world problem I know. But I have developed an enormous spot, right in the middle of my face, right in time for the Christmas party (Saturday night).

I've been feeling really rough this year (illness followed by illness), put on a bit of weight etc and I really just want to look half decent for one night! How do I get rid of this spot in 48 hours?!

It's bright red, massive, and really raised so I can't really cover it with make-up - I have tried and it just looks like a make-up covered mountain in the middle of my face.

I can't help you I'm afraid but I can empathise. Have a girls night out tomorrow night and work Christmas party on Saturday and have a weepy crusty (sorry tmi!) spot bang in the middle of my chin. Grrrr!!!

Origins Super Spot Remover is good. I think it's salicylic acid. It dries them up and soothes redness really fast.

Wear really bold lipstick or eyeshadow/False eyelashes.
Stick something interesting in your hair.
Bold earrings to catch the eye.

Toothpaste left on the spot dries it out then concealer

Acnecide cream will work. If you buy it this evening and put it on twice a day...

I have no advise but can offer my condolences as I had a hideous cold sore develop on my nose for mine this year! Luckily lighting was very dark!

Magnesium sulphate from chemist. Super cheap. Put on overnight. It draws everything out! Works brilliantly for those spot/not spot annoyances.

Toothpaste or sudocream on it as long as you can

You can get spot dots from Amazon that you put on to draw out the gunk. Keep one of them on day and night til the party. It'll flatten it at least

Yes you need Acnecide. It contains Benzoyl Peroxide but isn't as drying as the just buying benzoyl peroxide on its own. Honestly it's fantastic.

I second toothpaste or mag sulphate overnight for as many nights as you can.
Then get some green concealer (hides redness) on it and loads of normal concealer, foundation then powder.

I can’t help you I’m afraid. But as someone who, on Saturday, has the biggest party I have been to since my own wedding (with attendees that I haven’t seen for 20 years, when I was three stone lighter ), and has developed not only eczema on my neck, an infected toenail (so I can’t wear the heels I bought specially) but also the beginnings of the most horrendously sore boobs pre peri m period (sorry TMI), I can but sympathise.

Sudocrem overnight

It's not recommended for your face but as a one off emergency treatment dab some hydrocortisone cream (mild steroid) onto the spot. It's brilliant at taking down swelling.
Whatever you do, don't prod or squeeze it.

Cut a fringe? Drastic I know.

Remember Christmas parties are dimly lit and nearly everyone is blind drunk.

Don't panic. I do believe you can still drink.

My DD swears by garlic - chop a clove in half and rub the cut side on it before bed time and it will be much improved by the morning.

Don't use toothpaste. I know this sounds crazy, but it can cause chemical burns if left on the skin. Use a proper spot cream.

Blister plaster on it for a few hours/ over night. That’ll take it right down. Miracle worker.
