Dd (5) hates boots but its too cold and snowy for shoes!

Her feet are long and thin (12.5e) and she just was not happy with ANY boots we tried. It doesnt help that none of them have any way of tightening across the foot. They are all crappy thin soles and designed purely for fashion.

We tried on a few of the boys ones but she seems to find the fact that they come up and over the back of her ankle really uncomfortable.

Can anyone help suggest some sort of warm footwear that she can play out in this cold weather in?

Landsend have these duck boots which have a quilted ankle which might be soft on her ankle.

They look lovely and warm, but wouldnt be suitable for school with the colours, and she cant do her own laces yet.

I buy my dds boots from richter. She’s got thin feet and she liked them.

I will look them up and see if there are any local stockists.

Have a look on Zalando - they have a really wide range of European brands (like richter that pp mentioned) which are much better quality and more suited to cold weather than the rubbish we get here (lots with wool linings and goretex etc). My dd has some superfit and some kavat, both of which are really nice.

Will do..do they have shops too? Id rather her be able to try on somewhere with her being so particular rather than arranging deliveries and returns.

Mine dd's have patent Doc Martins.

this is the sort of style she currently wears which dont offer enough coverage in the cold and (lile today) snow and sleet.

Id love her in DMs but she hasnt mastered tying her laces yet.

M&S ones don't' come up as high as the Clarks ones and have a zip as well as laces.

They look good. I could tighten the laces up then she could just use the zip on and off. We tried m&s today but these werent in thefe.

Kids DMs have laces up the front and a zip, ds' school friend has some.

Yes my ( don't know why mine came from) dc just use the side zip and keep the laces fastened.
