Hi need some advice, I'm 44 now and over the past year my forehead has become more wrinkly and pores more obvious.
I've been using benefit porefessional which is quite good as a base but my make up seems to slide off it. Any top tips for wrinkle skimming creams to use under make up that won't act as a slide for it! Thank you

The MAC foundation is pretty good but you will need to get the right colour for your skin. I have it but don't wear it much because I feel it's very thick (esp compared to porefessiinal which is what I normally wear). The last time I wore mine for a night out, a friend said it took 20 years off me (I am a similar age to you op)!!!

Bloomed · 25/11/2017 21:27

Which mac foundation do you use wish?

roobrr · 25/11/2017 21:27

MAC Prep + Prime skin base visage is amazing.

swizzlestix · 25/11/2017 23:18

Thanks all, I will investigate that foundation, taking 20 years off me would be amazing!!!

I'm loving "This Works - In Transit" as a make up base.

I've posted about it before on MN.

It seems to even out skin without being drying and makes all my many foundations perform so much better.

My new make up nirvana is In Transit before my Charlotte Tilbury light wonder Foundation, stilla watercolour blush, clarins concealer All locked in with Hourglass Ambient lighting powder.

Eyes/lips vary day to day but the above is my "face" and even DH has asked "have you done something?"😆😆😆

The Ordinary have a high-adherence silicone primer that's meant to be good. I've just ordered it so can't vouch for it yet.

swizzlestix · 26/11/2017 06:44

Thank you some great suggestions there. Darth I'll def look into that product combo. Smile

there's a Bobbi Brown concealer I saw talked about recently - think it was this one:
www.bobbibrown.com.au/product/14018/49695/makeup/face-and-cheek/corrector-and-concealer/instant-full-cover-concealer/fh17

"Concentrated, highly-pigmented coverage that visibly brightens stubborn dark circles and softens hollows and tired lines in an instant—no sleep required."

Before you think about good foundations and primer, have you thought about getting a skin peel, OP? also botox helps a lot with wrinkles. Then, you will have a smoother surface to 'work' on.

DarthMaiden · 26/11/2017 13:04

@Elledorado - yes that's the one!

swizzlestix · 27/11/2017 09:52

Thank you that Bobbi Brown product looks great.
Re the skin peel / Botox I have thought about it but scared to be honest and wouldn't know where to start looking/ enquiring. Would love a smoother surface though as that's the main problem.
What is the desired effect of a chemical peel? Sorry I don't know anyone who's had one or maybe I do and they're keeping it quiet!
