Stained teeth...bane of my life.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for getting rid of brown stains & scale on teeth, other than a scale & Polish at the dentist? My oral hygiene is good. I don't smoke but drink a couplee of cupos of black tea a day. After my last scale & polish at the dentist, the staining seemed to build up again quite quickly. What can I do?

Crest whitening strips are good but gave me sensitive teeth. I'm currently using the activated charcoal with good results, they work after the first use.
You can get the activated charcoal from Amazon, sorry I can't remember where I got the crest strips from.

Stop drinking the tea 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/11/2017 15:35

I use Eucryl powder a couple of times a week.

Baconbinge · 22/11/2017 16:38

Use coconut oil for oil pulling, a natural whitener.

BigbreastsBiggerbeard · 22/11/2017 16:41

Another vote for crest whitestrips - they really worked for me.

What toothpaste do you use at the moment? Do you use a whitening one?

HotDamnState · 22/11/2017 16:45

Get them professionally whitened!

Then maintain with Crest strips once or twice a year IF your enamel isnt weak (purists will say never use them as they have a higher percentage of peroxide than the UK govt authorise , but if you don't have existing dental issues, I'd say go for it - they're widely available in the USA, and American teeth seem to trump British teeth, I'd say Wink).

Once weekly brush with Euthynol (sp?) powder helps to remove superficial tea/coffee stains, too.

HotDamnState · 22/11/2017 16:45

Eucrynol or Eucryl ?

funmummy48 · 22/11/2017 19:12

Thanks for all the replies, I guess the best option would be to give up tea altogether but that seems a bit drastic! 😕 I've just bought some Pearl Drops toothpaste which seems slightly abrasive so I'll give that a go. It's not that I actually want them whitened...I just want some individual stains to go. 😢

Put milk in your tea.

funmummy48 · 22/11/2017 19:38

Milk in tea is 😱

Get a Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush! I always used to get coffe or red wine stains but no more. It really does make a huge difference.

Ollivander84 · 23/11/2017 00:18

Yep. White glo toothpaste. Shifts staining (use with the included toothbrush)
It says non abrasive but I'm not convinced so I only use it for removing stains, not every day. I was really self conscious and it works

PrincessLuna · 23/11/2017 07:25

I drink black tea and have exactly the same problem so sounds like the black tea is likely to be the culprit.

funmummy48 · 23/11/2017 07:53

I think I'll have to start drinking my tea through a straw! 😐

Mulberrysilk · 23/11/2017 08:46

Just look at what black tea does to the inside of the cup.

Maryannesingleton · 23/11/2017 08:48

Coffee and tea drinkers toothpaste from Superdrug
