Has anyone got rid of or improved the appearance of age spots / pigmentation without lasers???

Just that. I have noticeable sun damage on my upper cheeks and around my eyes. Wondering if any products will help or am I better off going straight to laser treatment rather than spending a fortune on skin products first?

I spent a lot of money on products to try and get rid of pigmentation. I'm also in NZ and had a reasonable amount of pigmentation across the tops of my cheeks.

I ended up going down the laser route - it makes such a huge difference and you really do see immediate results, so I would definitely recommend it if you can afford it. It penetrates the skin deeper than topical treatments do. There were slightly darker uneven patches on my face which disappeared after laser that I hadn't even realised were due to pigmentation.

I went for a course of 3 treatments initially and now just go for a one off treatment every 1-2 years to keep my skin looking good. Bear in mind that the pigmentation will come back if you don't continue to protect your skin (I wear spf50 daily and a hat if it's sunny) so I'd say it's not worthwhile having laser if you're not prepared to look after your skin in the long term.
