Are these boots frumpy?

If so, are there any kind of ankle boots without much of a heel that look nice? Desperately need something comfortable and that doesn’t break the bank balance.

what are you going to wear them with OP? what is your purpose?

I agree with Amelia, its how you put it together. Except for the bare ankle - too cold. I'm tempted by this type too as I need flexible soles (I work in an SEN school so have to be up and down on the floor, running etc), but as I'm 50 I worry about looking ...er 50!

Where are they from BTW?

The Tesco ones look good in RL too, I think I’m being swayed towards them, if they really are on trend.

I usually wear skinny jeans and I especially need them for work as I walk a lot and do night shifts.

queen the ones I’ve posted are from Clarks outlet: www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/p/48146160

I thought they were from Clarks. I've tried them on and they were really comfortable.

BewareOfDragons · 19/11/2017 16:41

I like both of the pairs of boots pictured at the top of the thread. But I value my knee joints which have enough issues. I don't care if my feet look frumpy or not, tbh. What's it to anybody else? I want to be mobile and comfortable as I'm on my feet a lot ... anything else would just be silly!

HateSummer · 20/11/2017 11:09

I’m going to order the tesco ones (they’ve gone down to £20 since Saturday!) but wondering whether to get black or grey.

I really like the grey ones but can you wear grey boots with all kinds of colours? I normally wear brown or skin coloured shoes so they match with everything..

Order both and return the ones you don’t want once you have tried them at home . Or keep them both !!

happymama99 · 20/11/2017 21:00

I've just ordered the grey Tesco boots too. I hope they fit and look good, they are a bargain

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 01:24

I ended up getting the black ones, can’t wait to get them. My feet are yearning for some comfy winter shoes!

Your original boots weren't frumpy but the ones in the next post down were. Hth!!
(The Tesco ones are nice too but I do prefer your original ones!)

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 01:32

Well obviously it doesn’t help does it, because I’ve ordered the Tesco ones Hmm.

Light hearted. The Tesco ones are fine.
Just me not understanding why the top ones are considered to be frumpy compared to the second ones Confused

CakesRUs · 21/11/2017 01:35

They’re Clark’s and Clark’s boots are so comfy. Always but my boots and sandals from them.

It’s useful to buy your sandals in the winter and your boots in the summer, you get some real bargains in the outlet online shop.

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 01:40

I’ve always bought clarks too, but I’m constantly second guessing their styles these days, that’s why I posted.

I think the sole of the second ones look a bit more chunky and that makes them look less frumpy.

OP posts:
ferrier · 21/11/2017 01:45

Really? Maybe my phone isn't doing the pictures justice as the sole of the second one looks thinner plus it has the separate heel and less detailing. I'm a bit of a sucker for fancy bits - maybe that's where I go wrong.

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 01:53

I’ve bought these ones:
in black

I think you’re looking at the second picture. These are different.

OP posts:
ferrier · 21/11/2017 01:57

Those are nice. They have a thicker sole and not a separate heel - I like them.
Btw I do have a grey pair and love them but sometimes only black will do so if I had to choose one colour it would be black.

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 02:00

Phew! Yes I thought the same with black. I just hope they don’t make my feet hurt.

hatesummer

I wore mine all day yesterday and they were super comfy. I've just put them on again and styled my doing-nothing-much-at-home outfit around them because I like them so much.

HateSummer · 21/11/2017 12:20

Cool! That sounds good. I’m picking them up this Friday, excited!

Being a total sheep I ordered those Tesco boots in grey the other day after reading this thread. Just collected them in store and they're great! Really comfortable and I love the colour (but I am a fan of grey anyway). For £20 they're a total bargain. Great recommendation!

MummySparkle · 24/11/2017 20:24

Baaaa! I just bought the Tesco boots too. I adore the grey ones, but black would be more useful. Discovered I had more than £20 in club card vouchers so they were totally free - result!

MummySparkle · 01/12/2017 23:47

Collected my boots from Tescos today and took them straight out to the work Christmas party. 2hrs of solid dancing and they were super comfy! I'm assuming they're not frumpy as my super stylish gay colleague said that if he was straight then he'd be hitting on me Grin
