Which is your favourite hippy deodorant?

I have just finished a Pitrok roll on that I was decidedly 'meh' about. Do you have a hippy deodorant that you swear by, one that keeps your pits smelling as sweet as a baby's head?

Jason didn't work well for me at all I was very smelly after a couple of hours but I was in a hot country when using it. Might be fine in the winter.

Cataronga · 17/11/2017 06:44

Salt of the earth or Pitrock both work perfectly for me.

IrisMumToBe · 17/11/2017 06:45

Dr. Organic. A bit pricey though but been using it ever since and it's nothing like the other deos I've tried before.

www.amazon.co.uk/PitRok-W1060-Push-Up-Crystal-Deodorant/dp/B000S858L0 I use this Pitrock Crystal one and I don’t smell at all even walking 10+ miles a day in work. DP uses it too who is more sweaty than me and he never smells either. Another thing is it lasts absolutely ages we’ve had it since god knows when and use it pretty much everyday!

Weleda rose spray works well for me.

IamEarthymama · 17/11/2017 07:30

ZaraW
Where do you get Toms of Maine now? We haven’t been able to find it in the UK for ages
It’s the best deodorant ever
I like Dr Organic too
I have a cupboard full of crystal deodorants which just wouldn’t work during the menopause

I also use The Greeeench from Lush. I work in a busy cafe, in and out of a hot kitchen, very active, and it works for me. I use soap in the shower and scrub my pits, dry them and apply it. It feels nice, I like that it's a powder.

I've also tried The Guvnor from Lush, but didn't like that it was dark grey, just from a psychological point of view, didn't feel quite clean! Still worked though!

ZaraW · 17/11/2017 08:27

IAm I get it from iHerb.com

IamEarthymama · 17/11/2017 09:28

ZaraW thank you
I will check it out

We particularly like Toms Roll on so keeping my fingers crossed

That blue one in Sainsbury's Bionsen or something

trainedopossum · 17/11/2017 10:15

This is also good (almost as good as Aesop) but I buy it in the US where it is vastly cheaper: www.amazon.co.uk/Aubrey-Organics-Northwoods-Deodorant-118ml/dp/B00U7NDXH2?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Ever since my horrific experience with The Best Deodorant Ever I use several aluminium-free products in rotation because I've tried every 'natural' product going and most of them don't work so I can't afford to become sensitive to the ones that do. Smile

Reading with interest ... a related point: I switched from shower gel to soap recently after reading a thread about it on here and I have found that makes me a lot sweeter smelling! The sweat is pretty odourless now. So that could be something to think about as an eco friendly way to pong less.

Shockers · 17/11/2017 18:13

Soap works for my Stinkerbelle teen too!

squoosh · 19/11/2017 15:21

I bought the Bionsen one to start with but will try a few of the others suggested on this thread. I already use soap on my armpits in the shower. I'm not particularly whiffy or sweaty just fancy giving a new deodorant a whirl.

We used to use Tom's of Maine but struggle to get it now. We've found Bionsen is a really good alternative. Jason's has never worked for me.
I will try soap instead of shower gel, I can imagine that making a difference.
