Shampoo & conditioner without sulphates for dry fine hair

I'm late 50s and my hair is naturally dark blonde but starting to grey so I dye it (to my natural colour). Hair is fine but plentiful and fairly dry. Also has a slight curl which I like to enhance hence ideally without sulphates.

Any recommendations?

I do the curly girl method which is no sulphates, no silicones (and a few other ingredients like drying alcohols). I do conditioner washing only (no shampoo) but there's a facebook group called the Curly Crew which includes no sulphate shampooing and they have lots of great suggestions and options if you join. You don't have to have curly hair :).

I haven't tried these but I know the Noughty range (new I think in Superdrug) are all safe, no sulphates or silicones. Also the bodyshop rainforest shampoos (I think the Rainforest conditioner might have a drying alcohol that you ideally want to avoid). There are also some Shea Moisture options, the superfruit complex shampoo or the Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo would be good for fine hair (some of their products are very heavy) and their conditioner options are all silicone free.

You just need to be a bit careful with everything you put on your hair (styling products included) - you need to be totally silicone free as only sulphate shampoo washes silicones out and without washing silicones out they'll build up on your hair and scalp and cause problems. Sorry if you know all that!

For what it's worth, my hair has never looked better with ditching the sulphates and silicones. I literally have no split ends and super shiny hair whereas my hair previously was so dull, thinning and loads of split ends.

I have tried many and I personally don't like the one from the Body Shop. The shampoo is very thin and liquid. I like the L'oreal Hair Expertise Pure Rich.

My latest one is Palmer's sulphate free shampoo and conditioner and it's brilliant and smells gorgeous.

Personally I have very thick hair and the no shampoo method doesn't work as I end up with very, very oily hair.

The A'Kin range are very gentle. My adult daughter who has fine hair and suffers from Telogen Effluvium likes them. They don't lather as well as sulphate shampoos but do clean well. Holland and Barret, Waitrose, FeelUnique etc all sell them. They are about £8 a bottle

Lately my faves are by Trilogy. Very good for my dry processed hair & not too heavy. No sulfates or silicone.

It's real trial and error finding something that works for you! My personal favourite is Davines Love Curl shampoo, but it's pricey. L'Oreal extraordinary oil low shampoo is also good. My hair is fine and naturally wavy.

I have fine dry hair too, have been using Kind Natured from Boots for a couple of years now and it made a difference very quickly. I use the one for coloured hair, it's £4.99 and always seems to be on the bottom shelf out of sight.
