I'm getting married the beginning on June, and my skin is not looking good ATM. 13 wks pregnant- slightly spotty chest and face

Can anyone recommend any nice products i can use to get my skin in nice condition?

Scrubby things would be good-the sanctuary salt scrub is about £12 from boots.

Congratulations on both wedding and baby

ooh, i like Sanctury stuff too.

Any other ideas? Any beautifully skinned ladies with more tips? I don't want to look like this at my wedding

I like the microdermabrasion (sp?) kit from Loreal. It's like a scrub but becasue it's very very fine it's very efficient at removing dead skin and dirt.

Also an idea could be to put on some face masks, like clay and stuff like that. They're really good at removing impurities and improving skin's condition. I used to use some from Nivea that are very cheap, they come in single use packets so you can try them out.

Just be careful in using a good moisturiser if you have dry skin. I'm using Bio oil under my moisturiser at the moment, as if it was a face serum, and my skin feels really soft and suple.

Liz Earle stuff is lovely, quite gentle, but effective.

Don't be too hard on yourself - the spots are more likely to be hormonal than anything you are doing/not doing to your skin. You might be better off spending your money on decent foundation and concealer!

PregnantGrrrl · 17/04/2007 11:18

foundation is my next question! i rarely wear it, so i have no idea what to get. I imagine there'll be lots of hugging and kissing going on, so something that doesn't come off easily?

Are you doing your own make up on your wedding day?

PregnantGrrrl · 17/04/2007 11:22

yes, cheapy wedding

how do i know what type my skin is? It just feels...weird. Not greasy, not dry, not smooth either.

I did the same. I would go for those free make-up demonstrations they do in department stores like Debenhams. Tell them it's for your wedding and they'll tell you about special products that last, give you tips, etc. Body Shop also do them, I thought they were quite good.

As for foundation, I got one from Estee LAuder, which was very good at lasting all day, but didn't look heavy. Make sure you do follow all the tips about applying foundation to your eyelids and then a base coat and then the colour and also applying powder all over your face to fix it, and all that. It really does make a difference in making it look professional and preventing it from fading after an hour!

Have a look in the Boots website, in the Jemma Kidd make up range, she has brilliant advice with step by step instructions on how to apply it.

Finally, if you don't usually wear make up, make sure you reallya re saving money in doing it yourself. I'm sure I didn't. I ended up buying on impulse so many products that I've hardly ever wore since that it ended up costing me more!
