Skincare products in glass rather than plastic containers

I was watching Autumnwatch earlier and they did a piece about plastic in the ocean which got me thinking. I know to avoid microbeads, but I don’t give my beauty products much thought beyond this (and preferring cruelty free though in this I confess I’m not perfect).

Moisturisers are more likely to come in a glass jar, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend any cleanser/toner/moisturiser etc that comes in glass packaging rather than plastic please.

I wouldn't use creams that come on jars as a lot of ingredients will lose their efficacy if exposed to light and air. Also it isn't always hygienic to keep sticking your fingers in. A bottle with a pump dispenser is much better.

Bravura products come in glass, including most of the face washes, toners, acid exfoliators etc not just the moisturisers. It’s not hideously expensive either Smile

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! There’s so much to think about, we try to be good in so many areas but I just hadn’t given the beauty/toiletry side of things the same thought.

I know jars aren’t meant to be as hygienic as tubes/pumps etc, but I do like the ritual of a jar of face cream! I will look into some of the brands suggested, thank you.

I assume from an environmental point of view, where glass is unlikely to be an option (shampoo?) it’s better to choose the largest size available? And the same for washing up liquid/fabric conditioner and the like? Lots to look into. I’ve got to pop to Boots over the weekend so I’ll spend some time looking at which S&B products come in glass bottles/jars, I’m guessing not too many at high street prices.

Apparently you can get shampoo bars (like soap) - I intend to try them when I've used up the bottles I have!

Sorry I've not read all of this thread but Decleor creams come in glass jars.

Try Honey Bee Beautiful- handmade Welsh cosmetics with dark glass containers- lovely products

The other option is lush who reuse the plastic containers and encourage customers to return them.
