these? - Dunno how to get rid of them, sorry...

see here

I think it is genetic, and the only thing you can to to relieve it is exfoiliate, and moisterise, but they won't go away until you get old. I get it too.

Washersaurus · 12/04/2007 20:56

They are hereditary - my mum and my 3 sisters all have these. I get confused as I always assumed they were dry skin related as moisturising usually helps mine, but my mum says they are acne related spots.

I also get them on my legs - I went to see the doctor when I was 15 about them, he also said they were acne related but I refused to believe him

I get it too. I actually thought most people did but that those who you couldn't notice it were the ones who did a really good job of exfoliating!

ArcticRoll · 12/04/2007 20:58

Try dry brushing with body brush before shower every day.
Mine disappeared when I started doing this daily.

Apparently according to "the diet doctors" they are caused by lack of essential fatty acids. So an omega3/6 supplement should help.My ds had them and since being on eyeq they have gone.

KnayedFrot · 12/04/2007 21:38

It is definitely the thing Iota has linked too - little red pimples.

I do have the otehr things as well SMS, on my trunk - always thought they were haemangiomas and harmless.

Anyway, it's the pimply things I want to get rid of.

i only started getting them 2-3 years ago, but now they seem to be here to stay.

My upper arms are not the most attractive anyway despite having recently lost weight.

I sort of exfoliate halfheartedly, but inetresting about the omega 3/6, thank you.

dd1 aged 12 has these too . is it safe for her to take omega 3 supplements do you think?

Washersaurus · 12/04/2007 21:53

OMG if I had realised when I was 15 that I wasn't some kind of freak and all you lot had these pimples too, growing up would have been much easier for me!

brimfull · 12/04/2007 21:54

my ds is 4 ,they are safe for children

zephyrcat · 12/04/2007 21:57

I have had these since having children and I hate them. I squeeze them to death so they end up looking worse but it's become a habit!

5yo dd has started getting a few too Will have to try these ways to get rid!

I was referred to a dermatologist last year for these - my GP wasn't sure if it was Keratosis Pilaris (KP) or folliculitis. They seemed to get much worse after each pregnancy. The dermatologist said it was def KP. I had a few sessions of UV treatment, which I have to say didn't do much to improve it. His other advice was to exfoliate daily in the shower with a buff puff/nylon ball thingy and ,moisturise. Since I've been doing this they have improved dramatically. Still got patches on upper arms and a bit on thighs, but nowhere near as much as before . HTHs

pipsqueak · 13/04/2007 00:15
