They're very expensive, they feel odd, they tire out your legs. If you're REALLY into exercise they might be worth it. I only wore mine a few times then gave them away ...

Whoooosh · 12/04/2007 12:12

Love mine-they are great.

Have definitely helped my back and posture-cellulite is terminal in my case so no change there.

Best friend calls them my "lezzershoes" though as they sure ain't pretty!

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:22

ooh whooooooosh (freaky number of o's there)
do you wear them about the place or for exercise? or both?

thats right LL... supposed to correct your posture and make each step harder, therefore tone your legs (like walking on sand)

thats the spiel anyway...

They are vile and stupidly expensive ... but I love mine. No idea whether my legs look better or not, but having been signed off for almost a month last year with a bad back, I have no regrets, as I don't have a twinge now, and I can't think of anything that might have improved it other than my beloved MBTs.

nappyaddict · 12/04/2007 12:24

can someone get me a link?

JonesTheSteam · 12/04/2007 12:26

here

nappyaddict · 12/04/2007 12:27

i'd say worth it if you have a bad back otherwise don't bother.

Whoooosh · 12/04/2007 12:31

NappiesGalore-the thought of me exercising is hilarious!
No-I just wear them about the place-wherever I need to walk-shopping,to the pub, shopping,to the park etc.
I can definitely feel a difference in my calf muscles and because of the shape of the sole, even when you are standing still you can rock on them to stretch your leg muscles.

I really do love mine and want to get another pair but they really are fugly.

Would highly recommend getting them fitted by a recognised dealer as they really do have to fit well-I went to John Lewis and am an MBT 7 whereas normal shoes am an 8.

makealist · 12/04/2007 12:32

You know that feeling when you've been on your feet all day and you just can't wait to get your shoes off and your feet are all hot, sweaty and tired? Well I do a 12 hour shift's in mine mbt's and my feet are fine at the end of it.
I also hardly ever get neck ache either now.
Hard to tell if my legs have toned up as I'm overweight...perhaps if I ever do loose weight a pair of perfect pins will emerge!

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:39

oooh, i am soooo getting them.

whoosh, i noticed swaety betty had em in richmond tuther day. would they count as regd fitters you think??

OP posts:
turquoise · 12/04/2007 12:39

How much are they? Can't see any prices on that link.

I have a v bad back and am flabby, so could overlook a bit of fugliness if the price was right

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:41

i think theyre pricey. but makealist's post makes me want them bad.

i cant make the link work at all btw

GameGirly · 12/04/2007 12:42

Mine were about £150 methinks. But agree with others, definitely get them fitted properly. Got mine locally and are fine, but friend got hers in John Lewis and got feet full of blisters.

makealist · 12/04/2007 12:43

Ooh the funny thing is 3 times I've been asked by young kids if I'm wearing heelies (sp?) because of the look of the heel.
I paid £125 for mine, worth every penny imo.

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:43

whoa, £150?? thats a fair old outlay...

i still want them, but that aint cheap.

and ta for fitting advice. v much worth a good fitting then

mumsnetters wear funny shoes

Whoooosh · 12/04/2007 12:46

I think anywhere that stocls them Nappies should have the special MBT measurer thingy-you put your feet flat on foot shape mat and they put a T-bar shaped bit of wood accross the top of your toe-that tells you the size you need.
I definitely found one style more comfortable than another so worth trying a couple on.

I reckon it was some of the best money I have spent-and yes, lots of kids will think you have heelies on

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 12:52

yes kitty. i fear i have reached That Age where ugly but comfy/practical footwear wins over pretty shoes. sayoing that, ive always been a bit of a nwerd so...

OP posts:
Whoooosh · 12/04/2007 12:53

Have to say £125 is a lot of money but I have managed to spend that on a night out and had nothing to show for it the next day except a hangover

NappiesGaloreeatsBoysonToast · 12/04/2007 14:44

very good point whooosh.

though the last time i did it was probab ly abotu 4 years ago, before i had all these pesky kids !
