Can I ask a question of any 1950's/rockabilly dress fans?

Would you pay £25 on eBay for a dress that originally cost £125 and had only been worn once?

I have a really gorgeous and high quality swing dress that I would like to sell but eBay seems pretty dire for sellers at the minute so don't think I'll get any takers. Really don't want to put it on auction and get pennies Sad.

If you had a big party or a wedding coming up a) would you look on eBay? And b) would you spend £25 on a 'used' dress?

Thank you!

I used to buy clothes on eBay but have found that often they are on there because they are poor quality or a weird fit. I would be more tempted if you accepted returns.
What size- looking for one for a wedding!

Yes. I bought one from ebay this year.

Can I see? Grin

Depends on the dress.

Depends on the dress. You can out it on at a min bid and see?

There are fb groups that I look at - lindybop and rockabilly style dress groups. Try there?

If it's a really nice dress it might do better on a specialist Facebook group if such a thing exists? Christmas parties coming up so if it would suit for that is maybe hold off to November?

I occasionally look on eBay, but I primarily look on Facebook now. The collectif selling group allows sales of similar brands, and for size 14 upwards the fuller figure fuller wardrobe group is very popular.

Thanks all.

I don't have FB and don't really want to join it tbh. Might rethink if it fails to sell on eBay though. It's a 12-14 which might go against it as I know the style is most popular with plus size women.

Perhaps see if a friend would be willing to join some of the relevant groups and sell on your behalf? If it’s a specialist dress that will be best appreciated by enthusiasts then Ebay isn’t really the place.

Alternatively, is there a good vintage store or dress agency anywhere near you?
