Does a Brazilian work on us larger ladies.

Never had one but going away on a cruise that only has a tiny shower. I found out last time it was impossible to shave properly in one.
I thought a Brazilian might last a week so sort the problem but... I am a bit fat and very dark haired How easy is it going to be for a therapist to get it off given my size and my genetic hairiness. Bit worried I am going to end up skinless or burnt.

I can't see why being larger would be connected

I haven't seen how tiny a cruise ship shower is but could you shave outside of the shower?!

This is a weird conversation Grin

I have a fat...ahem...pubic mound...and have never had a Brazilian but plenty of Hollywoods. I also have very dark, thick hair. I go to a salon that uses Lycon wax and have never had any burning or bruising or skin damage, and it barely hurts at all.

botemp · 13/10/2017 18:30

It shouldn't be an issue except if you have diabetes. It may also be more painful as skin is thinner with more give so definitely book in hot wax or lycon. If it's just for bathing suit reasons you can also just get a bikini or G-string wax which is the edges or just a bit beyond but leaves the undercarriage as is and saves you from the indignity of doing the back crack which some will insist you do on all fours or require your assistance by holding the cheeks apart for them if your behind is ample.

This really is a weird conversation Grin

Goshthatwentwell · 13/10/2017 18:37

Is it? I have looked through the past threads on first time wax's and although they are er quite ..graphic.. no one seems to have answered this.
I have only seen Brazilians in the gym or on the two episodes of Naked Attraction I turned over quickly. Not seen any big women with them. I would like one but not if it's going to make the poor therapist want to kill me.

If you'd like one you should go for it. I'm sure the therapists, like healthcare professionals etc have 'seen it all before' and really won't be fussed by your size.

botemp · 13/10/2017 18:49

Sorry, no, the topic is not a weird conversation. I was merely commenting on my own narration of the process being weird when reading back.

And as above, they've seen it all and that includes several sizes, it really won't be a problem Smile

Itscurtainsforyou · 13/10/2017 19:30

It shouldn't be a problem Smile

It's also not a problem if you have diabetes unless you have neuropathy too.

sonlypuppyfat · 13/10/2017 19:34

Here's an idea, leave it alone

BillyDaveysDaughter · 13/10/2017 19:44

Ooh interesting question. The beauty person who does my biosculpture nails does lycon wax and she does my eyebrows, I am very tempted to book for a bikini wax.

But she's a rather attractive slim woman, I'm not sure my fragile ego can take crouching on a beauty table meant for someone a few stones lighter, pulling my ample cheeks apart while she waxes a lady garden the size of three football pitches whilst talking about her chihuahuas dental problems.

Ginkypig · 13/10/2017 20:42

Son I'm sure if gosh wanted to leave it alone she wouldn't be on here asking the question. Do you have an answer to the question gosh asked? No? Then bugger off the thread.

Your size shouldn't be a problem if the therapist is trained. My suggestion is to go to a place that specialises in waxing rather than a beauty place that also happens to do waxing because they do it day in day out, it's their bread and butter so to speak.

Goshthatwentwell · 14/10/2017 15:07

puppyfat Cheers but obviously I have managed to not have a Brazilian up to this point. I have lots of dark facial hair thanks to my gene pool which I don't bother removing.
I don't think swimsuit with pubes is a good look though and mine is an expansive garden

Not the question you asked but would a boy-leg swimsuit solve the problem?

MinesaPinot · 14/10/2017 19:26

I'm a 14/16 and I had a Hollywood before I went on a recent cruise, having had experience of the small shower cubicles! I had a Lycon wax and absolutely no problems. If you are what you consider excessively hairy then just trim down with scissors before you go for your appointment. Therapists have seen all shapes and sizes and degrees of hairiness - I'm sure you won't be any different.

Oh, and have a lovely time on your cruise!
