There's a new store here. I have seen a kind of tweed mini in there I like. It's full price £59 but they have 25% off everything.

Questions - is it like joules abs Biden where you don't need to pay full price you just wait for codes.

Is it worth the money - looks quite preppy and classic not really that fashiony.

Is it frumpy like fat face and white stuff or is it cool?

They are very big on aggressive marketing to the kind of public school kids who holiday en masse in Cornwall- lots of freebies dished out to them via the schools. MOTWYW- but it's very much Boden for kids too old to be dressed by their parents.

I have jumpers and 2 dresses from there (I am 40). They are all 100% cotton, have washed really well (some are in their 4th winter) and the best thing is....because everyone thinks it's for teenagers you are unlikely to see any of your friends wearing it. So just don't tell anyone it's good or everyone will start buying stuff there and it will become as ubiquitous as oasis/warehouse etc!

I used to wear Jack Wills. Circa age 15.
Did have a couple of lovely thick classic skirts wonder where they went not sure what the quality is like now but everything I had was fab, really hard wearing and washed well.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/10/2017 20:26

I have a really nice summer blazer from there. Although I was one of the private-school-holidaying-in-Abersoch lot Grin

I went in Jack Wills recently to buy a gift. They asked for my postcode, I asked why and they gave a reason and I gave them it. Then they asked for my email address, which I declined to give. They got shirty.......it went on for a while, there was a large queue, both checkout staff were jointly working on each transaction rather than opening the other till. Quite honestly it was far to much trouble to go to for a pair of bloody joggers and I'm never going in there again. The joggers were nice though.

KizzyKat91 · 13/10/2017 20:38

The high waisted skinny jeans are amazing! Loads of stretch but they don't sag and last ages.

The flannel boyfriend shirts they do every autumn/winter are also fantastic. I've got a flannel checked shirt and plain long sleeve top that are 7 years old...the top has only just been relegated to loungewear due to being a bit bobbly, but the shirt is still going strong!

Don't bother with the knitwear though, it always shrinks!

I am 39 and like it. Bought two t shirts and two hoodies and a pair of shorts. I am under 5 foot and it fits lovely. All the adults in South Wold seem to be in it.

Comfy relaxed items for me.

dantdmistedious · 13/10/2017 20:45

I'm 38 and roughy 24 years old for any of the branded stuff but sometimes they have some stuff that's ok with no branding if I can squeeze it on. The branded stuff is verging on untrendy for all ages here now.

OlennasWimple · 13/10/2017 20:46

I used to wear it when I was young and thin.

I've still got some stuff which is wearing well 15 years later, but I understand that the quality is a bit less good now

IcelandicWarriors · 13/10/2017 20:50

I never wore branded stuff 24 years ago. It was a bit uncool and only army surplus would do 😃.

The t shirts I have and shorts just have that weird small creature on it and have worn really well, meaning more than two years. I like them.

CallarMorvern · 13/10/2017 21:29

I quite like their clothes, not the stuff with the big logos, but other things are nice, I'm 48 and not into teenage fashion. I have a lovely JW fair isle scarf ( last of the big spenders!).

SuperBeagle · 13/10/2017 21:46

I just bought two of the "Goldwyne Ruffle Dresses". It's coming into summer here in Australia. The reputation of the brand doesn't matter an ounce here. Grin

MorrisZapp · 13/10/2017 21:55

I bought a fabulous chunky jumper last winter, it doesn't have blimmin Jack Wills written on it and neither does most of their stuff. Buy the skirt if you like it.

FreeButtonBee · 13/10/2017 21:56

I find they still use a lot of cotton and wool rather than synthetics so I do like it. I have a great oversized sweater for wearing with jeans/leggings which I love love love. Sizing is on the comfortingly generous side for me mostly.

dementedma · 13/10/2017 21:59

Goes with Hollister round here as a brand for teens and/or yahs.

Cwandry · 13/10/2017 22:02

They just opened one in Marlborough. I think for the college kids. I like the clothes, but they are nothing special for the money. It is a posh kids brand for sure.
