Can anyone talk me through their routine to remove make up and what they use? I used to never remove my make up (I know terrible) because I hated wipes and felt cleansers never got rid of much. Then I started using ponds cold cream which I love but I think it is Makingme get pimples which I don't normally get.

Garner micellar water.

TheLegendOfBeans · 08/10/2017 20:17

Baby wipes; have used Johnston's sensitive for years.

To the above poster who said about taking a hot flannel to the face; how do you get shot of your mascara though?

Falconhoof1 · 08/10/2017 20:17

Garnier even!

MozzchopsThirty · 08/10/2017 21:27

Another micellar water convert. Use the Garnier for sensitive and combination skin

It’s cheap, £2 per bottle and just wipes off
I’ve also got the micellar face wash which is currently £1 for in the shower in the morning

Maidupmum · 08/10/2017 21:35

Witch hazel. Have done since I was 12. £1.20 a bottle and it leaves my skin really clean!

Baby wipesGrin

Singap0reSling · 08/10/2017 21:41

I use an eye make up remover (Lancôme or Garnier) and La Roche Posay micellar cleanser.

Then a second cleanse with a Neutrogena face wash or a balm cleanser depending on how much time I've got.

Toner followed by moisturiser.

Eve Lom....warm on fingertips, massage all over face, take off with a few repeated hot cloth (I use a proper flannel, not the muslin provided) once overs...leaves my super sensitive, very pale skin feeling wonderfully clean and not 'tight'. It is my favourite product ever. So easy, expensive - though I stock up in the sale - but lasts AGES as you need just a tiny amount.

littlechou · 09/10/2017 21:57

@bingohandjob my fave too but I NEVER see it in the sale. I get mine from space nk . Please please, where is your sale source? Grin

findyourbacon · 09/10/2017 21:57

Botanics balm cleanser from boots is lovely. It takes everything off and feels like a luxury product - but much cheaper.

coffeekittens · 09/10/2017 22:12

Liz earle cleanse and polish all the way. One product that does it all.

PurpleDaisies · 09/10/2017 22:14

Simple eye make up remover over my whole face. Then normal face wash.

Thirtyrock39 · 09/10/2017 22:17

I'm going to get some of th body shop camomile stuff soon as I've heard good things. I currently use baby lotion, then tone and moisturise but feels a bit heavy

Tinks15 · 09/10/2017 22:22

Nivea cleansing milk to remove my make up then seaweed face wash from the Body Shop then i use the seaweed toner to remove any make up I've missed when washing my face.

BaconAndAvocado · 09/10/2017 22:31

Liz Earle hot cloth Cleanser, love it!
Removes all make up including mascara and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or tight.

Tatiana1986 · 09/10/2017 22:36

Garnier miscellar water is very affordable and removes makeup without much effort.

oldlaundbooth · 09/10/2017 23:40

I use Johnson's baby lotion.

Smear over face, including eyes, wipe away with cotton wool pads.

Ridiculously cheap and very efficient.

oldlaundbooth · 09/10/2017 23:41

FWIW I don't moisturise afterwards.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/10/2017 23:41

Body shop camomile oil. Used the balm for years but the oil is even better.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/10/2017 23:47

**oil over face and eyes then remove with a tepid flannel.

Cotton wool pads with Nivea Cleansing Milk. Then I use toner or micellar water afterwards to remove the last traces. If I've run out of cleansing milk I use Astral instead (it's great for removing waterproof mascara).

Then I sometimes wash my face with an exfoliating scrub to make my skin feel extra clean.

The odd times I have worn makeup I've taken makeup remover wipes with me or I've made sure I've had some.
For example I've only worn makeup a few times (for Halloween when I visited a friend at uni, and a bit when I was at uni myself). But I'm not a makeup person. I can't apply it and the women in my family aren't makeup women at all. (I've got nothing against it at all, I just don't ever wear it). Didn't even at prom or on my wedding day. Never regretted it.

I use plain coconut oil - works wonders. I also use a bit of neutrogena eye makeup remover with a cotton pad if I've done some heavy eye makeup that day.
And I keep one pack of the simple makeup remover towels by my bedside and use it on days when I'm being super lazy. I used to be like you and often slept with my makeup on, but it's terrible! My lazy solution of the disposable towels isn't great but I go through one pack (of 25) every 6-9 months so only resort to it on the laziest of days. Still better than letting my pores clog up!
