Comfy clothes I can leave the house in?

I'm so sleep deprived and feeling chubby and don't want to get out of my pyjamas. I have such a casual lifestyle (school run, kids activities, at home) and I can't bear to wear jeans anymore. I'm no longer a fan of leggings (colour fade, forever pulling them up like tights).

What can I wear? I just want to be comfy at this stage of my life! When I get more sleep, lose 10 pounds and generally feel better about life I'll ace about being stylish again Confused

Are harem pants back in? I loved them, the first time round.
I must admit I wear lots of dresses, jersey tunics, etc. Very comfy but don't look hideous.

Happycow · 10/10/2017 17:04

Yes to th Sainsbury's £10 leggings. Also my go-to is some soft black jeggings (must have elasticated waist tho, none of this button-digging-in-my-belly stuff) and a loose fine knit jumper. Comfy, can throw on a chunky necklace to look a bit more 'together '... job done!

WellTidy · 10/10/2017 17:06

I am slightly more than 10lb from the weight I'd like to be, and very sleep deprived. My uniform at present is straight leg jeans, a heatgen long sleeve top from m and s, and a phase eight becca or Christine top. They are drapey, but cover me up and look smart.

RunRabbitRunRabbit · 10/10/2017 17:13

What state are your jeans in and what do you wear them with?

You might just need better tops to go with the jeans and new jeans. Makeup and accessories can refresh your look too.

Jersey dresses with tights, instant boost for me!

LoadsaBlusher · 10/10/2017 23:37

Those phase eight tops look lovely welltidy but at nearly £60 they are a bit expensive for me
Think I will have a wee look on EBay
I can imagine them being super easy to dress up with a chunky necklace

I second yoga pants. Now back at work and hating structured clothes, so have bought some wide leg pull-on m&s trousers ( I'm so old/frumpy!) that I can just about get away with if I wear a decent top/jacket/shoes.

So many great suggestions thank you!

Care to share any links - jersey dresses, jumper dressed, pull on bras all sound ideal Smile

And any recommendations for jeggings?

Having seen this online shop pop up on my FB feed endlessly I finally took the plunge, very cheap (but ships from US so slow to deliver) and I was pleasantly surprised. Loads of comfy dresses here

I actually bought this one which I'm delighted with! Smart enough for work but floaty so really comfy!

Also bought this which is lovely and comfy but a little small fitting so size up and I think it would be great - lots in this jersey t style dress

Dresses are the way to go - super comfy, no waist-band, don't have to think about tops and bottoms - all you need is some tights and a jacket.

NinonDeLenclos · 24/10/2017 20:31

Uniqlo usually do 100% merino jumper dresses this time of year - very good value. Jack Wills often does tartan shirt dresses. Hush and Baukjen do jersey bodycon stuff.

NinonDeLenclos · 24/10/2017 20:32

Bennetton used to do good jumper dresses too - don't know if they still do.

Betsy86 · 24/10/2017 20:43

Sainsburys do pull on jeans for £12.50 there comfy cz no buttons etc and can dress them up or down. Im way more than 10lb away fem where i need to be and these r my daily outfit staple lol. There not as bulky as jeans and not as lightweight as leggings so look fine whatever u throw on with them.x

Betsy86 · 24/10/2017 20:44

There’s 25% off in sainsburys atm aswell i picked up a few pairs today lolx

Hippadippadation · 24/10/2017 21:31

Jeggings!!

I need to find out more about these pull on bras though! I barely need a bra and definitely don't need underwire. Might check out sainsburys tomorrow.

poppym12 · 25/10/2017 08:21

I looked at the pull on Sainsburys bras at the weekend. Does anyone know what the sizing is like please? I'm a 32f bra size/14 ish top but depending on whether they come up small or larger, I wasn't sure which size to get.

TheFirstMrsDV · 25/10/2017 15:40

I am a 30f @poppym12 and I get the Medium. They fit fine.
I am not sure about good support long term but I have had mine a couple of months and they are doing well. The cup inserts can get a bit twisted in the wash but they are easy to put back in place.

poppym12 · 25/10/2017 17:38

Thanks MrsDV. I'll get a couple and hope that I don't have to wrestle myself into them. The amount of support doesnt bother me, it's more for comfort on days I'm slobbing about and may leave the house but feel obliged to put a bra on to do so and basically can't be arsed.
